Free Music Notes for Music for Two (Bonus DVD)Free Music Review: Psyclist Hit: 5 StarsExcellent recording by two innovators at the top of their game.....listen and be prepared to be blown away. The recording quality is superb.....I initially thought it was a studio recording until I heard the audience's response on the first cut. Highly recommended!
Free Music Review: Bonus is RIGHT! Hit: 5 StarsI fell in love with the music on Uncommon Ritual (Meyer with Fleck and Mike Marshall), but Music for Two being the collaborative effort of Meyer and Fleck, enhanced by the "behind-the-scenes" documentary made the music that much better. Now, every time I hear Canon, I just imagine the technical level of difficulty and the determination of two awesome musicians.
The whole CD is wonderful...and the playfulness between these two friends can be enjoyed by the listener.
Free Music Review: Superb! Hit: 5 StarsIt is amazing that this is the first full album these two have made together. How do you put talent of this level into words? Not only do you have a wonderful live album, but it also comes with a great DVD 'documentary' of the tour, and more specifically, the song 'Canon' that Edgar wrote. It offers a kind of up close and personal look at the creative genius, and flaws, inside the heads of these two musical masterminds.
Free Music Review: Unequivocal Wizardry Hit: 5 StarsI don't know what CD the last reviewer (June 25, 2004) listened to, but surly he got that confused with "Music for Two"!B?la and Edgar, as always, has demonstrated their unequivocal wizardry on their instruments in this fine work. They've busted thier butts to get to where they are at now and it shows. Watch the DVD and see what they go through rehearsing the song "Cannon" during break from one of their shows and after, etc...
Free Music Review: You gotta be kidding! Hit: 1 StarsBela Fleck and Edgar Meyer are both truly adept at their respective instruments. But a whole bunch of classical pieces performed by Banjo and Double Bass??? Yawn! What's next, Kazoo and Bells. Thank god I listened to this CD before I dropped my cash. Some may enjoy and god bless as far as I am concerned; let me at my stack!
