Free Music Notes for I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your LoveFree Music Review: Brilliant. Hit: 5 Stars
Let me just say I've been a huge My Chemical Romance fan since their underground stuff. I've loved them so much up until "Danger Days". I'm sorry, this might offend other MCR fans, but... "Danger Days" was a disappointment. And "The Black Parade" wasn't such a great album either. I still consider myself a fan because of my love for their old stuff, but not so much anymore. "Bullets" is an excellent album in my opinion. It seems to be that in this album there is a lot more feeling and poetry to the songs than others. I think the reason why it's so emotional and from the heart is because at that time Gerard was going through a really hard time and the lyrics just flowed directly from his heart to the paper. There's a lot of screaming involved, but that's how they started. If you can't accept their first album how can you call yourself a fan? I know, I may sound like a hypocrite because of me not liking "Parade" and "Danger Days", but hey, that's me. I'm sure there are a lot of MCR fans who like the new stuff. I'm just saying that now they've become more poppy and I don't fancy that much. I guess what I'm trying to say is their first album was brilliant in many ways. I still adore Gerard, Mikey, Bob and Ray with everything in me, though, nothing can change that.
Free Music Review: if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all Hit: 5 Stars
what if i said that the sex pistols were absolute [worthless] and they are a disgrace to the world of rock and all that is holy?!
i must say, i took it incredibly personally when you so blatantly stated how crappy mcr was and how badly they sucked........they're one of my absolute favorite bands, and it hurts to hear things like that.
You didn't even say, "I think..." or "In my opinion...", you just said "this is junk".......until scientific theory proves that my chemical romance is JUNK, you need to re-phrase your words next time.
I think My Chemical Romance is an incredible band with deep, meaninful lyrics and amazing musicianship. If you aren't a fan, then that is your prerogative, but please don't go ranting about how bad the band is and how they could never compare to your beloved sex pistols.
Although i don't have anything against the sex pistols, or probably any other bands that you find rock-worthy, i am sure someone out there truly dislikes their music - and i'm sure you would feel offended if you heard someone putting your favorite band down.
So please, next time, keep your harsh words to yourself - most people reading your review are probably fans of the band buying a cd, so think about that.
Free Music Review: No Big Secret Anymore.... Hit: 5 Stars
Well MCR is not a Secret Underground Rock (they say they are rock not emo) band anymore.... Everyone knows My Chemical Romance Now!!! Third CD coming soon, Nov. 8th '05 I believe!
Just for the record, HEADFIRST FOR HALOS is one of the best songs ever by MCR. I also love, HONEY, This Mirror isnt Big Enuff For the Two of Us!!! The BEST DAY EVER (the day he left the hospital) has the best guitar riffs and its one of those QUICKIES you just have to put on REPEAT!!
This was their first CD, but NOT a lesser model by any means. each song on this CD sets the stage for the upcomming events between the LOVERS and the DEVIL. Aside from, SkyLines and Turnstyles which illuminates the tragedy of September 11th.
Being NJ natives, Manhattan is a train ride away. The story goes, Gerard way was in NYC around 9/11 trying to get his cartoon sold to the cable channel, Cartoon Network. After 9/11 he decided to put his artistic abilities towards music, and express his emotions about the terror of the 9/11 event. Hence the first song was written, Skylines and Turnstyles.
Just a bit of trivia for you, hope you enjoyed it.
One of the Bands Ever!!
Free Music Review: MCR rocks. Hit: 5 Stars
After seeing My Chemical Romance last night on the last date of their tour with Piebald, Minus the Bear and Noise Ratchet (as of this writing, Jan 31) here in Las Vegas, NV, I was in awe of their live performance, and I wanted to hear what the songs sounded like on the recording. So off to the merch booth I went to pick up one of their t-shirt's and this CD. Although I have only had it for a day, I can already safely say that I am IN LOVE with this CD. I can not understand at all why anyone would call MCR formulatic, generic, and I certainly don't agree that these songs are not catchy. After listening to this CD, I'm always left wanting to hear it again. And again. Well, anyways... All I can say is this. Download "Vampires Will Never Hurt You" and/or "This is the Best Day Ever". If you find that this isn't your particular cup of tea, then don't buy it; but I think that if you had enough interest in this band to be reading any of these reviews, I can almost gurantee you'll enjoy it. OH, and by the way, if you haven't been to one of their shows already, go see them next time they go to your town. They're cool guys, and put on a helluva show. :)
Free Music Review: Not For The Teeny Bopper MCR Fans... Hit: 5 Stars
First of all, I'm looking at the people who commented before me and some are kids under 13. Most say they like "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" better, and that's probably only because MTV played "Helena", "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" and "Ghost of You".
This album is much less poppy, and has barely any songs with choruses. The songs on "Bullets" are much more poetic, hardcore, disturbing, and beautiful than "Revenge".
To me, the songs on "Bullets" take more than a few listenings to understand. Each have catchy riffs and stuff in them, but in some songs, the beautiful lyrics are masked by catchy beats, that most preteens will overlook.
"Bullets" is based on many morose subjects, like suicide, death, alcohol, pill, and drug abuse, and the occult. It takes more than a preteen to appreciate the beauty of this album, so I reccomend if you are looking for a pop-punk album with a more mainstream sound, try "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge", but if you really enjoy hardcore emo mixed with goth rock, "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love" is more for you.
