Free Music Notes for I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your LoveFree Music Review: Not my usual cup of tea Hit: 5 Stars
When I read an interview with the lead singer Gerard way some 6 months ago, I was taken aback by the man's honesty and intelligence. The emo / hardcore scene is one which I have never been involved or particularly interested in, and the closest I've got to it is a dodgy copy of dashboard confessional - probably not the best place to start. So I bought the MCR cd and have been completely blown away. Not since I heard Jeff Buckley's Grace have I heard such emotional and frankly ultra-personal and introspective lyrics. Anyone who has felt the epic frustrations of love and loving will find some kind of affinity with this album. The influences are obvious but not unwelcome, most notably the smiths, at the drive in and early offspring. The true stand out tracks are vampires will never hurt you, demolition lovers, and headfirst for halos. Most notably of all, this album makes me want to be young again to rediscover those magnified teenage feelings of hormones rage and love. I hope it reaches a crossover market, so it can teach supposed rock stars how to write somgs that matter and make you feel alive.
Free Music Review: First c.d. is much better then new Hit: 5 Stars
Well unlike most people that listen to MCR now i have been a long dedicated fan, preordering thier first c.d." i borught you my bullets, you brought me your love", this c.d. has a very gritty low quality sound tone to it which i love, the lyrics are much darker then the new mainsteam "three cheers for sweet revenge" c.d. but the guitar work and mixing job on this c.d. was much better thoguht out then revenge. For me personaly I can relate to gerards lyrics in bullets alot more then revenge simply becasue the revenge album was written from a story board sort of view, which was hard for me to relate with, bullet however gets deep inside the emotions of hate, greed, fear, as well as many other creepy topics such as blowing your brains against the ceiling, and a ex girlfriend turning into a vampire. over all this c.d. is alot more true to the "My Chemical Romance sound" which i love, all thought the recording job is not as high quality, the mixing and thought out lyrics make up for it.... in my opinion buy this c.d. before you buy revenge and you won' be dissapointed. 5 stars to MCR for this c.d.
Free Music Review: Beautiful Lyrics, Kick-ass sound Hit: 5 Stars
I love this album! It is very different from 'Three Cheers' in its sound. It is harder rock and the lyrics are more dark, as opposed to 'Three Cheers' which was more about loss and had a more pop rock-ish sound. I didn't like it right away, but it grew on me. I absolutly love Gerard Way's voice...especially in this album. Those who say that this is 'emo' are completely false. They are a rock group, and their new album could be considered pop-rock. Yes, Gerard DOES put emotion into his singing as should EVERY singer in any band that matters.. if you don't put emotion into your music, what do you have? Bands who have "Get and stay number one on TRL for longer than a month" as a goal for their band. My Chemical Romance is good music, despite what anyone says about 'emo crap'. Its not the bands fault that they got onto MTV and they got millions of fans and people say that they are 'THE EMOEST BAND EVA!!!!11' They certianly don't claim they're emo. They didn't get famous for being not talented. They just make music. If you don't like, don't listen to it.
Free Music Review: Amazing Hit: 5 Stars
Did you ever listen to a band for the first time and have them totally take your breath away? This is what listening to My Chemical Romance could do for first time listeners. Hailing from Belleville, New Jersey this five piece band is a refreshing and unique entry into the Hardcore genre. Mixing brilliant lyrics and powerful vocals this band goes above and beyond any hardcore or emo band of late. Some stand out tunes on this cd are "Cubicles", 'Vampires Will Never Hurt You", and "This is the Best Day Ever". The band has already gained recognition by opening for Thursday and this cd is produced by Geoff Rickely the lead singer for Thursday. Certainly not a bad start for a first time effort. To get the full My Chemical Romance experience you have to see them live because the energy this band displays is almost magical. Without a doubt this is a stunning debut for a band that could very well be very big one day.
Free Music Review: My Chemical Romance Hit: 5 Stars
I love this album. It's not mainstream, but it's still appealing to people. This album is a must for anyone who considers themselves a fan of My Chemical Romance. It's dark, fast-paced, and filled with meaninful and emotional lyrics. (Pay attention to the lyrics remember) Each song is different in its own way.
~~REASONS TO BUY THIS ALBUM~~
*Headfirst for Halos-Don't get fooled by the upbeat tempo, listen carefully to the words. Really great song, though.
*Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us-This song is great, it has a music video if you didn't know already.
*Demolition Lovers-Starts at slow, but has a fast, loud ending. Who couldn't love this song?! I don't know who...
*Early Sunsets Over Monroeville: A slower song. It has this sort of eerie quality to it I think.
Oh yeah, that's just SOME of the songs on this album. So, anyways this is a great album.
