Free Music Notes for I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your LoveFree Music Review: This is THE MCR album to own Hit: 5 Stars
I haven't listened to anything MCR has putout since they turned all pop/punk (post Sweet Cheers) and started wearing all kinds of stupid makeup. This album was absolutely amazing and still rocks my world. When the music was just about the music and aggressive and fantastic and simply amazing.
Supposedly they are supposed to get back to this with their next album:
"In an interview with NME, Gerard Way said the band's next record would be a rock album, saying, "I think (the next album) will definitely be stripped down. I think the band misses being a rock band."[26] In a separate interview with Idiomag, Way commented that the next release would be less theatrical in scope, stating that "it's not going to be hiding behind a veil of fiction or uniforms and makeup anymore."[27]"
IF their new album is ANYTHING remotely close tot his album it will be fantastic.
Free Music Review: AWESOME ALBUM!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I really really liked this album...I heard of my chemical romance when i got tickets to see green day and once i popped their albums in my stereo i've been a fan ever since... But anyway i like this album a little bit more than 3 cheers... 3 cheers is still a masterpiece but i like more of the fast paced guitars and the lyrics are just a little bit better on bullets... I don't really care that they are becoming mainstream... It's annoying but they are really talented and they deserve the money and all the exposure they are getting. Overall it's a very good album my personal favorites are "vampires will never hurt you" and "headfirst for halos." If you are just starting to like MCR get this album first and then 3 cheers... Just you can see MCR before they became mainstream... I give this album 5 stars!!!
Free Music Review: Amazing, whatelse can I say? Hit: 5 Stars
This is an incredable cd, honestly that is simply all it is. This band lovingly puts so much energy and emotion in this that I don't think that there is a single generic or feigned part on the whole cd. A expert mix of hardcore, emo and punk the way it should be played and enjoyed. My Chemical Romance expertly balances these three genres while playing memorable songs with great lyrics. Has a sorta goth feel to it but I am fine with that in this case. I think Drowning Lessons is definatly the best song on the cd. I think these guys could be huge and it is a shame that people are so preoccupied with other flash in the pan acts and not focusing on true talent. Relentless and passioned songs, this cd kills.
p.s. Man now I know what they mean when they say "be careful what you wish for."
Free Music Review: If you don't like this CD, you don't like music Hit: 5 Stars
Simply put, this disc is my soul mastered onto a CD.
If you found this band through "I'm Not Okay," I am sorry. You really missed out on everything they are. Bullets is filled with all the raw emotion and pain Gerard was feeling in late 2001/2002. On the outside the songs appear to be about zombies, vampires, and murders, but once you really listen and take the music to heart, you see it is really nine beautiful love songs and a 'Dawn of the Dead' instrumental.
While Revenge is a good disc, the fame and good fortune the band has had recently will prevent them from ever creating something so raw and wonderful ever again.
If you love music, buy this CD. If you think the "Helena" video is, like, so hot, don't waste your time. This is simply too good for you.
Free Music Review: Not for the faint of heart. Hit: 5 Stars
"Bullets" is a deliciously dark, jarring, haunting album. Intensely emotional, the raw first effort of a young band to get their ideas into musical form, it's definitely an acquired taste. Lyrically, it puts most artists to shame. However, the vocals are a lot rougher; the music in general is a bit more halting, even grating at times. MCR had not yet hit their stride, it seems, and the succeeding albums are a lot smoother. Not bad for a young band, but not the album you force a friend to listen to to make them a fan. Even if you prefer their more mature recordings, it's worth a listen just to see the evolution in the music. If you're like me, though, and you enjoy listening to extreme, sometimes unnerving music, this may be one of your favorite albums.
