Very experimental, almost shocking at first, but it grew on me fast. "Evil Urges" is a perfect opener, and "Highly Suspicious" is highly accessable. I can hear the R&B and Gospel influences mentioned from early articles and interviews with Jim James. The usual southern ballads are here as well, from the barn rock to the praire. I believe "Evil Urges" is the best MMJ record yet and highly recommend it. I purchased "Z" last year based on one song and really enjoyed the entire album. I also have "It Still Moves" and "The Tennessee Fire". It seems to me that every MMJ record has been an improvement on the previous record, and that is quite an accomplishment.Free Music Review: Eclectic great album

Jim James soars in this album with his unique song writing and rhythmic progressions. Undeniably one of the best rock groups out there and can delve into any genre with their true foundation still intact. This is my fifth CD purchase from MMJ, and they are one of my favorite bands. Jim James' guitar playing and sweet voice come off excellent in this CD. The songwriting is awesome, as usual, and I can't wait to see this band in concert September 2008 - TWICE!!! Highly recommended CD for fans of southern rock. Love it!!Free Music Review: OHMIGAWD! I love all of MMJ's old stuff just as much as any other fan, and I have to say I love this album too. No one wants a band that keeps making the same stuff over and over. Sure, "It Still Moves" is their best album, but "Evil Urges" is still great. Come on, how can you not love "Highly Suspicious"?
