Free Music Notes for Fly Or DieFree Music Review: There's not a word Hit: 5 Stars
When I originally heard this album it was on aol and at first even though I love the neptunes and n.e.r.d I did not like it. Maybe it was because it was new and raw but the second time not only did I like. I loved it so much so that I had the computer on constantly to play it. There are few artists that I can listen to their whole CD's, all the way through but these artists are an exception. They are in a category all by themselves and if they ever stop making music this astounding and awesome, I fear that the whole of music(which if you noticed they helped create by making half if not all of the songs which have been popular the last ten years) shall suffer greatly and die completely. Their music makes you feel something that you only feel when listening to older music, like it is something that exists. It has soul and meaning and you could only hope and pray that they NEVER stop making music like this.
Free Music Review: FLY OR DIE FLIES OF COURSE!!! Hit: 5 Stars
MY BOYS DO IT AGAIN. FLY OR DIE DELIVERS THE SAME SPIN AS "IN SEARCH" OF, BUT WITH NEW FUN AND HOT TRACKS. CHAD, PHARRELL AND SHAY DO NOT STRAY FROM THEIR STYLE JUST TO SELL MORE RECORDS,WHICH MANY ARTISTS DO, THIS IS WHY I AND MANY OTHERS FELL IN LOVE WITH N.E.R.D. IN THE FIRST PLACE. N.E.R.D. RISES TO THE OCCASION AGAIN WITH THEIR FUNKY,UPBEAT AND UNIQUE STYLE OF MUSIC, APPEALING TO ALL OF US WHO WANT MORE. TRAKKIES (N.E.R.D. FANS) HOLD ON TO YOUR SEATBELTS ONCE AGAIN. FLY OR DIE DEBUTED AT #6 ON BILLBOARD 200, AND I'M NOT SURPRISED, CAUSE ALREADY I CAN'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT LISTENING TO THRASHER, SHE WANTS TO MOVE, AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. I LOVE FLY OR DIE AND CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEM AT THE ELECTRIC FACTORY IN PHILADELPHIA. YOU MUST BUY FLY OR DIE (ESPECIALLY IF YOUR TIRED OF HEARING THE SAME OLD KIND OF MUSIC CURRENTLY BEING PLAYED OVER AND OVER AGAIN ON THE RADIO), CAUSE ITS TRULY REFRESHING.
Free Music Review: Get it Music Lovers Hit: 5 Stars
If you like watching BET all day, don't get this CD. This CD is for music lovers. All you people who like songs like "I like that" and artist like Chingy, TI ect. and all those paper rapers who can't do nothing but put thier hat on sideways, you won't like this. So don't waste your time. Top 40 makes me sick. This album is composed by artist. N.E.R.D. do your thang. It is long over due for something fresh. I bought this CD expecting little, and it turns out I lke every song on the CD. I like sitting in the dark with this music pumped up sipping on something. I just bought it today(3 July 04) and I have listened to it at least 15 time in a row. If you are tired of the no talent paper rappers and want to listen to a CD that sounds like a composition, get this CD. This Cd sounds like it took longer than 20 minuets to put together. I love this CD. Listen to track 10, my favorite...
Free Music Review: Pure Genius.......But an odd flight Hit: 5 Stars
For those who loved their first cd this one is a bit different. Pharrell, Chad and silent member Shae explore their rock roots and mix it with trance, hip-hop, r&b, and garage band melodies. Some of the lyrics left much to think about, wondering if it is different just to stand out, or was not much thought put into the song. Much like their first cd the album has plenty of standout tracks such as "Breakout", "Drill Sargent", and "Jump" (featuring the Madden brothers of Good Charlotte). But the track which stands out the furthest is an "unmentioned" bonus cut after the song "Chariot Of Fire" It is Pharrell performing at his best. Overall N.E.R.D. is not a total waste of money, or time listening. Granted it may take you listening to it several times to fully grasps the groups focus, it is well worth the trip.
Free Music Review: Influenced By The Past, But They Have Their Own Sound Hit: 5 Stars
This is one hell of an album! This album could've been considered one of the greatest Pop albums of all time if only it had the proper promotion. The vocals are mediocre, but Pharrell isn't really trying to sing and that's one of the things that make this album great!! As a true music fan, I can hear so many influences. From The Police, to Jimi Hendrix, to Early-Santana, to The Beatles' Sgt Pepper Era, to Early-Solo McCartney. And at the same time, they keep their own style intact.
I wish record companies could realize true talent like Pharrell and Chad instead of spending their money on fake, microwave-made pop artists who only are good for one or two years then they are replaced by another manufactured waste. Overall, "Fly Or Die" could rate up there with the classics like "Sgt Pepper", "Saturday Night Fever", "Thriller"......etc.
