Free Music Notes for Fly Or DieFree Music Review: N*E*R*D = Quality Music Hit: 5 Stars
This album is packed full of quality music. No cheap gimicks can be found here. N*E*R*D has shown everyone what can be done when Live instruments and a diverse taste of music are used on one Studio Album. You'll hear a sound from them unlike anyone out there. They'll make you want to dance to their infectous beats and sing along with the chorus. It isn't very often when you hear music that isn't just catchy but makes you wonder how they were able to put these songs together with so many layers of melody and syncapation without making it feel like it was forced together. You have to here these songs from start to finish to understand what I mean. "The Way She Moves" is the best example of this. Put away your one hit wonder album that you bought and pick this soon to be classic (Along with thier first album) album.
Free Music Review: One Of The Best Cds I Have, I wish i could give it 6 stars Hit: 5 Stars
Anyone complaining about the cd obviously has never listened to N.E.R.D. If you bought this CD expecting the Neptunes ,you bought the wrong CD. This album ROCKS. The sound is better, the lyrics are better, the whole album is better than the first. I think the reason why I like it so much is because it is so different, and the new sound was very unexpected. BRILLIANT! I expect more and better albums in the future. Especially because this album is only stage 1. Soon they'll be in stage 2. And the format and writing will be different. It wont be verse, hook, verse. It will be hook, bridge, double bridge, verse, hook, course, verse, bridge, double course, verse, bridge, end. I know you might not get it at first but you will soon see. Listen too the cd a little a couple more times and you will definetly get the message.
Free Music Review: True music fans will understand.... Hit: 5 Stars
I think "Fly or die" is just as good and probably better than " In search of"...you have to remember that the neptunes/nerd are very heavily influenced by classic rock R&B and Jazz..and especially in songs like "backseat love" and "dont worry about it" you can hear bands like "the who", "earth wind & fire"...styles being reflected on..etc. BUT through their own brilliant minds they have been able to somehow make it all their own...it still just sounds like "NERD" .. no matter what else is thrown in the mix. I think this cd flows better than the last...maybe you have to be on a psychedelic trip, or even in your natural mindstate be OPEN to new genres and styles to fully appreciate this fusion of real music. Id say my favorite songs on this CD would b "Maybe", "Jump", & "Wonderful Place".
Free Music Review: this is dope Hit: 5 Stars
Crossing rock and roll with the best hip hop production this decade certainly isn't easy, but N.E.R.D have dropped fire on this release.
At first listen, it sounds a little shallow, a little too experimental. By the 3rd or 4th listen you start to realise how good this release really is. Basically, it's the best across genre's release in a while. standouts include:
Drill Sergeant - 5/5
Thrasher - 5/5
Fly or Die - 5/5
Jump - 5/5
the rest are solid, at least 3 out of 5 each. Don't buy this if your expecting pharell to be singing or rapping over his usual hip hop beats that he churns out for jay-z and co. Buy this album because it proves Pharell's musical genius, as it is pushing boundaries and delivering great music at the same time.
Free Music Review: Fly and Die over this CD Hit: 5 Stars
If you love N-E-R-D and they're work as the Neptunes, you'll love they're new cd. i got a chance to listen to their entire album on they're site by playing the "skateboard game". Expect the advanced beats and fancy lyrics. The second album is...I must say...more mature than the first album, no offense. The album also features they're signed artists on they're own label Star Trak Music. Benji (I think) of Good Charlotte does a song with the trio on the track "Jump". The album is great theres nothing much more I can say about it. With Producer of the Year awards coming from Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams...N-E-R-D is truly ahead of the game. Also check out the new clothing line coming from the trio called the "Billionare Boys Club" GET THE ALBUM
