Free Music Notes for CelebrityFree Music Review: Good Boys Making Dirty Pop Noise Hit: 5 Stars
Okay, coming after a massive smash hit of an album is no easy task. The *NSYNC boys pull off another mixed set with this, their second album on Jive Records. They've pour themselves into this record - it's filled with songs they've written and produced themselves. Justin Timberlake is responsible for all three of the albums single tracks - "Pop", "Gone", and "Girlfriend" - taking a co-writing credit on each tune. He's not a bad songwriter really. Songs by JC Chasez also feature, he too, is quite a nice pop songwriter. In the end however, despite dipping their own feet in the creative pool, this album does come across as just being another step up from the previously laid foundation. The killer pop dance pop combo for this record are "Tell Me, Tell Me... Baby" and "Just Don't Tell Me That". They've done this type of stuff before, with the likes of "Tearin' Up My Heart" and "It's Gonna Be Me", but it's what these guys do best. Alot of ballads on this record come across as trite. It's not like the sentiments of the love tunes on their past albums have been the freshest, but those songs had alot more appeal than "Selfish" and "Something Like You" have combined. The ballad single "Gone" is depressing, not love affirming like those sappy singles before, so it does have a different flavor than the other tracks, but after over listening, even it falls flat. The arena of the uptempo pop song is *NSYNC's domain in the end. A few come short, including the irritating title track and the rather annoying "Do Your Thing". The rest of the sped up pop tunes are excellent however, jumping off with the album's first single "Pop", and going into 2-step and techno spiced album songs like "The Game Is Over", "Up Against The Wall", and "See Right Through You". These tracks are some of the guys very best uptempo tunes. Then a few out of place, yet perfectly placed tunes, those being third single "Girlfriend", an R&B track done up by the Neptunes, and a strange dance ballad type thing called "The Two Of Us". This album is really good, and shows the *NSYNC boys growing into their sound. It's a third level on their career, a fresh and exciting one that can only be made better by a new album sometime soon.
Free Music Review: Three years later and I still love it! Hit: 5 Stars
It's been almost 3 years since Celebrity came out so I decided to listen to it since I hadn't in a while. This album still makes me want to get up and dance! I don't care what the critics or the haters say, this is a great album and *NSYNC are a group of very talented guys. Why do people who so obviously hate them bother coming here to post negative stuff? Just enjoy your music and let us enjoy ours. There are some types of music that I don't love, but I don't spend time insulting their fans or posting negative reviews. If you've listened to their music and still don't like it, fine, but don't come here and post a negative review when I bet you couldn't even name any of their songs. Anyways, I've always thought that *NSYNC were the kings when it came to dance songs, and there are LOTS of great up-tempo songs on this album! "Pop" was the first single off of Celebrity and it was definitely dirty pop! "The Two of Us" is a very happy, sweet song. My favorite song on this album is "Up Against The Wall" and to this day, I'm still mad that it was never released as a single! It was influenced by the UK two-step sound. "Tell Me, Tell Me... Baby" and "Just Don't Tell Me That" were written by the Swedish songwriters that helped *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears make it big. I love those Swedish pop songs and I don't know how those songwriters are able to keep making such catchy stuff! "The Game Is Over" and "See Right Through You" are up-tempo songs with a lot of attitude! Love them! "Girlfriend" is a great mid-tempo R&B song. Even though *NSYNC were always popular for their fast songs, Celebrity proved that they were equally as wonderful on ballads. "Gone" is a masterpiece, "Selfish" is beautiful, and "Something Like You" is a song that would be perfect for a wedding. This is the type of album where at least half of the songs should've been released as singles. It shows their versatility at singing different genres and styles of music. Whether or not *NSYNC ever make another album, I'll be forever grateful for all the joy and fun they've brought me. Thank you, *NSYNC!
Free Music Review: BEST NSYNC ALBUM EVER! Hit: 5 Stars
I LOVE THIS CD! This is the only CD that's being played in my CD player now! Thanks to this CD, I'm more of an NSYNC fan than I ever was! 1. Pop- good song to dance and sing along to. Has a good message to it. Justin says this song was to answer critics. I can see why. 2. Celebrity-good song to dance and sing along to. Also has a good message. If your boyfriend was a celebrity and you weren't and all of a sudden one day your boyfriend wasn't a celebrity, would you still be with him? 3. Game is Over-good song to dance and sing along to. 4. Girlfriend-good song to dance and sing along to. This song sounds like 'It Makes Me Ill' from No Strings Attached. 5. Two of Us-good song to dance and sing along to. 6. Gone-one of my favorite songs. It's a love song and love songs are always my faves. This song sounds like 'This I Promise You' from No Strings Attached except in a sad way. This song is so sweet, so sad, and so beautiful, it makes you cry listening to it. 7. Tell Me, Tell Me...Baby-good song to dance and sing along to. This song has a good message. Without communication in a relationship, the relationship won't last. Love is a two-sided thing and both of you have to do your part or else the relationship won't work right. 8. Up Against the Wall-good song to dance and sing along to. Play this song if you ask someone out and they say no. 9. See Right Through You-good song to dance and sing along to. Good message too. Bad girls out there, guys can see right through you. 10. Selfish-MY ULTIMATE FAVORITE SONG! It sounds like 'This I Promise You' from No Strings Attached and 'Gone' from this album. Like 'Gone', it's on the sad side of things. This song is so sad, deep, and touching it'll make you cry. 11. Just Don't Tell Me That-good song to dance and sing along to. 12. Something Like You-the last love song on this album. The song is so beautiful and deep it might make you cry happy tears. 2nd favorite song. 13.Do Your Thing-this is my least favorite song on the album. It's not very dancable and it's not much fun to sing along to. It has a good message though. I hoped my review has helped you. I have two words for you about this CD: GET IT!
