Free Music Review: A classic rap album!

This album made me, a west coast cat cry. I love this album. It is down to earth, and represents the ghetto now a days. Any one, anyone who likes rap must have this album. This will always be one of the greatest albums. Nas's I am... is a very "straight from the ghetto" cd. He remembers Tupac and B.I.G. in We Will Survive. In the best song of the album, I Want To Talk To You, he writes about the ghetto life and how the goverment doesn't give about the ghetto. He ryhmes, "Mr. Mayor, imagine this was your backyard," "Mr. Governor, imagine it's your kids that starve." This album is real, straight lyrics. He raps about love, race and his religon. He really gives you a visual about the N.Y. ghetto. You would think that Dr. Dre got his song Forgot About D.R.E., from Nas's Big Things. This album is everything. There is no way you can hate Nas after you hear one of the songs on this album. If you love Nas or is just into ghetto rap, you can't go wrong with this album.Free Music Review: No use in hating when you know he's not stopping now!!!

This Cd is by far one of the best to drop this year as far as rap. No one will touch nas in 99 except for maybe the New biggie coming out soon. Cut's like "nas is like" bring you the raw deal and other cuts like not tonight and we will survive have just the right baseline and smooth hip-hop vibes to make this able to play over and over without getting tired of it. His last one had some classic joints like "if I ruled the world", but overall this one is definetly a lot tighter. My two favorite artists aalyiah and dmx are on here too so you know this is hot. don't listen to the hype, just get it. He couldn't have done better. I think sometimes dj premier beats are boring even though their right on piont with the rappers vibe most of the time. So don't hate on tone and poke because they bring a more wide spread appeal to the album. The mix of "illmatic" and "it was written " was a good idea. NAS... The name Nas is classic itself. People say he sold out with this album, some people say he showed his maturity. We all have different opinions. In the end though, if you listen to this album over and over again, it grows on you, and you see this is almost as ill as illmatic. What makes this album sub-par to illmatic is the "female aimed" tracks. Such as "Money is my Bi**h" and a couple of others.
But when you think about it, the other tracks such as "Nas Is Like", "New York, New York" and "Rise" are pure classic. You must keep in mind this is Escobar and not the Nasty Nas anymore. His music has matured and grown. Its hard to make another classic after a classic has already been made. For example Gza with Liquid Swords, the album is pure classic nothing can come close to that. Even the Gza himself cant top that album.
So think about then when you listen to this album and you wish Nas went back to being the Nasty Nas.

This new release from nas is hot. I don't understand what's the problem with people trying to compare this to illmatic his last album. People have to understand that he got a different state of mind now, and this album is about things happening now. Not back in the late 80"s. Even though I never heard illmatic, I say this is a classic. Especially compared to what's dropping now like (harlem world, etc...). If you want a banging album with tight beats and lyrics to make you really think pick this up. I don't know about everyone else , but compared to "It was written" his last album, this is way better overall even though his last one had some tight songs like "If I ruled the world(feat. Lauryn Hill). Don't listen to the hype and don't listen to people who want to hear another album of illmatic. Just go out and listen for yourself, and you'll see what "nas is like".
