Free Music Notes for Pocketful of SunshineFree Music Review: Natasha does it again :) Hit: 5 Stars
I've been a big fan of Ms.Bedingfield since a few years ago and enjoyed her past music. This past summer, I saw the video for "I Wanna Have Your Babies" online and fell in love with it. I found out her album "N.B." was only released in the U.K. I heard the other single "Soulmate" and loved that one too. I got her album "N.B." off of amazon and got it for X-mas. I was very impressed with that album and has been a mainstay in my CD player. I picked up this album too because there were a few different tracks and here is my track-by-track review.
1."Put Your Arms Around Me"- 10/10- I found this track very catchy and is a great way to open the album. Very poppy and fun to sing along to.
2."Pocketful of Sunshine"- 10/10- The opening 10 seconds of the song, I thought it was P!ink because of the first sung note but then I realized it wasn't. Otherwise, this song is very catchy as well and has a great melody. Great Chorus.
3."Happy"- 10/10- Another very poppy song and it's one of them feel good songs of the album. I think it could work as a catchy summer single.
4."Love Like This"- (with Sean Kingston)- 10/10- I was hooked the first time I heard this song. I am not a fan of Sean Kingston at all but he makes a unthinkable collaboration work well. This a great song to play in the car or anytime. Great Chorus and great song overall.
5."Piece Of Your Heart"- 10/10- Another great song
6."Soulmate"- Sad and a great song. 10/10
7."Say it Again"- Great song. 10/10
8."Angel" 10/10- On the original "N.B." there was a cut called "Tricky Angel" but now there is just a song called "Angel". I very good song.
9."Backyard"- 10/10- Another catchy tune. Slower and fun lyrics.
10."Freckles"- 10/10- A great song.
11."Who Knows"- 10/10- This is a wonderful song. It was on her album "N.B." and I was hooked. This song was included in the movie "27 Dresses" and my friend turned to me when it was playing and said "what song is that!?" and she was shocked to learn it was Ms. Bedingfield. This is pop perfection and just my favorite song on the album.
12. "Pirate Bones"- 9/10. This song did not need to be included on the album. This song is okay but the lyrics were kind of weird to me. It's okay though.
13."Not Givin' Up"- 10/10- A great way to finish off the album. Very upbeat and catchy. Great song.
Total- 99/100
Ms.Bedingfield will have a place in the music industry for a while. She has a thing for writing and making amazing music. I hope that this album does well and I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys great, poppy music. She is very talented and amazing.

Free Music Review: Strong*er* follow-up to her debut Hit: 5 Stars
When I heard she was coming out with a U.S. version of her sophomore album, I pre-ordered it knowing I would not be disappointed. Turned out this is an absolute must-have for fans of her first album.
I'd rank this above her U.K. release, which I also have. Some overlap with the same songs on both; but if you're a true fan, you own both of them, anyway. Both are strong albums in their own way.
If you're someone just trying out some new music and think you might be into her sound (soulful and passionate with a hint of raspy-but-sexy), buy this one (first). Solid songs throughout the entire record. Then, once you realize you're a newly recruited fan, buy her first album. Though her first ("Unwritten") was a very impressive debut, I'd say this is a very welcomed step above -- which is saying a lot... "Unwritten" was/is an excellent album.
And for what it's worth: she's hot, so where's the harm in buying her records for that reason alone?!
***Addendum***: In all seriousness and with shallowness aside, others have already touched on this, but it should be pointed out that Natasha writes (and/or co-writes) quality music that is not just superficially appealing to the ear, but is relatable and uplifting when one takes note of what she is actually saying. I should, however, throw in the disclaimer that this album is more well-suited for those lucky to be in love. For the rest of us, she does throw us a bone here and there. At one point, I agreed with another reviewer who dismissed "Freckles" as one of the weaker songs on the album, but once I tuned into the message behind the song, it's now one of my favorites and there isn't a single song on the album worthy of a skip-over. This is one of those rare finds you can enjoy, over and over.
Natasha is bound to be around for some time, as she's proven her ability to write meaningful songs from the heart and present them in a well-produced, radio-friendly (but tireless) format reflecting her talents as a true artist.
Easy favorites: "Put Your Arms Around Me," "Pocketful Of Sunshine," "Say It Again," "Not Givin' Up"
Free Music Review: A Matured Sophomore Release Hit: 5 Stars
Natasha's North American fans had to wait over a year for her sophomore release and it is finally here. I admit the wait was worth it as the improvements make it a stronger release for the US market (which is very hard for foreign artists to break in). The album differs from her UK release in that it has a few songs that are more US-friendly.
Although I'm not a big fan of overly commercial music, Natasha and her management has done what is needed to help her continue her career in mainstream US music. Don't be fooled by the lead single "Love Like This." I find this this to be one of the weakest songs on the album. Her second single, "Pocketful of Sunshine" is amazing. It sounds like a standard catchy R&B track at first but then becomes a powerful and emotional track with rock influences.
Natasha's bare emotion shows on many of the other tracks. She writes or co-writes all her music which gives her credit as an artist, rather than just a singer. Her most beautiful tracks are "Freckles," and "Happy." Natasha is a breath of fresh air for 2008. Here is a true pop artist with a lot of talent and creatively in writing and singing. I highly recommend this album.
Free Music Review: What a DOLL!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
This album is, indeed, a "Pocketful of Sunshine"...not all people, or relationships, are bad. Not all "questions" are "problems", and not all problems lead to drugs, depression, or suicide. Natasha comes from a gospel background, and it shows thru; even when there's a difficulty, there's hope. If you want gloom, doom, and dirty lyrics, stop now.
OK...you're still here. This is a happy, upbeat record by that rarest of "rock" singers; one whose words we not only understand, but are glad we do. "Put Your Arms Around Me", "Love Like This", and "Soulmate" explore the [surprise] good side of relationships. The numbers dealing with difficulties..."Happy", "Not Givin' Up", "Piece of Your Heart" don't make us despair. "Backyard" and "Who Knows" look at romance from a different angle, and "Freckles" is a reminder that even a beautiful, happy, young girl can have self esteem problems [though I saw no freckles in her pictures].
This is a well sung, well engineered, album that is an absolute joy to listen to. It is one of the very best new recordings I've heard in a long time, and I'll bet you will agree.
Free Music Review: Natasha shines with each new album Hit: 5 Stars
I'll admit that it took me awhile to decide to purchase Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield. The reason I ultimately bought the cd was listening to the words to Unwritten and connecting to the thoughts expressed therein. After listening to the cd, I found a new artist to respect and love. So it was that I discovered I Wanna Have Your Babies as her new release on her UK album NB and I purchased it online the day it was released. Imagine my surprise to be walking through Borders and seeing Pocketful of Sunshine! I was delighted. Though five or so tracks are off of the NB album, the others outshine what came before. I enjoy the lyrics of her songs as well as the passion in her voice. She is definitely a talented artist that has a great future if she continues doing what she's doing. She brings freshness to each album and one can never tire of the songs, even after listening to them for weeks on end. I highly recommend this album and NB if you haven't purchased that yet. I expect to be an avid fan of Natasha's for many years to come!
