I bought this album shortly after it was released in 1998, and it still gets put into the CD player at least once a week (usually before or after a Crowded House one goes in). I notice new things in it every time, and I can't wait for another album from him! I had to write after seeing there was a review from a 14-year-old girl on here. I started listening to Neil Finn as a young teenaged girl, at the height of New Kids on the Block's popularity. Knowing there are people that age out there who know music that didn't get shoved down their throats by corporate radio gives me hope for the future.Free Music Review: Lonely soul in an Empty House

This album is great by all means, I'd give it six stars if I could, it's flawless, it's everything you wanted to hear, I'm not a crowded house fan (I'm only 16) but I bought the cassette a while ago, I discovered that this album is better than anything I've ever heard, so i bought a double cd from amazon which had bonus songs (I searched recently and I found none) & it's worth every single penny. if you are a person who appreciates good quality music then this is it. & you don't have to be a crowded house fan to like this.BUY IT, YOU WON'T REGRET IT !

I always loved Crowded House and Split Enz, the songs were beyond catchy. They were downright infectious and it seems like they have a timeless appeal. Listening to the older tunes even now they still just sound like great music. So I took a chance and bought Neil's solo work and if you loved the work from CH and SE like I did, you will LOVE this album. Words wouldn't do it justice and I'll be spreading the word to all of my friends to get this album, it's doing them a huge favor. I have recently found the music of Crowded House. I have begun to find anything by either Neil or Tim. When I purchased this CD, I too listened at least 4 time to "get it". And get it I did![.] The title song, with its "sliding" of the fingers on the acoustic strings at the first part is particularly pleasing. The lyrics and song styles are varied, and very brilliant. His last song speaks to anyone with alcohol problems in a most poetic way.Buy this and prepare for a master songwriter to weave some great songs. Jarrette

I am a 14 year old female and I have heard a lot of music by Neil Finn. He is one of the best in the world. His music can calms down the soul and refreshes it. It is a great CD and so are all the other CD's he has done with Splint Enz, Crowded House, and with his Brother!! His son who was on tour with him is very talented and very dreamy(in my opinion)!!!!!! Try Whistling This is a CD everybody should own! I was intrduced to Neil Finn from my cousin and I have to say Neil Finn is the best musicians in the world!!!
