I think this is a great compilation for a Neil Young fan, which I am. People are complaining "this just isn't enough" and "just buy Decade", well I didn't want to pay a rediculous $29.99 for Decade, so this is great for me!!! I've wanted a Neil Young compilation for some time but couldn't bring myself to purchase Decade simply for the price of the set. I consider myself a Neil Young fan and if you do as well but don't want to go out and buy all the albums or Decade, just for the money factor, this is a compilation for you.Free Music Review: Sounds like they were just recorded! I was skeptical to buy this, because I'm an old fan, and I had most of the songs on older CD's. But from the very first cut "Down By The River", I could tell these songs jumped out with more presence than I ever heard them before. Actually, these most all are my Neil Young favorites and these are most of the songs you'd want to hear again and again anyway, so this is a very logical choice for the new or the old fan. All of them sound like they were just recorded this morning. Highly Recommended!Free Music Review: Nobody seems to get it!

Nobody seems to get it. This CD has nothing to do with the fact that we all have most of these songs already. What it is, is that here is a great mix of hits all on one CD that allows you to get one nice fix of newly rearranged Neil between the CDs of other artists on your car's CD player during a drive somewhere. Take it from me having finally played out both the Decade and Live Rust compilations on my car CD player. This new CD comes just in time!Free Music Review: Down by the river - the best of neil

I love this, this is a great cd for songs like Down by the river
which is almost one of my top songs and Like a hurricane, and
Hey Hey My My, & the very great, Rockin' in the Freeworld which
both Down by the River, & Rocking In the Freeworld get played
on the radio sometimes are all great!!! Great cd from neil.
Recommended!!! Hugely recommended for Down by the river.

If a person was just getting into Neil this would be pretty good. Although Decade or Live Rust would be just as good. I would probably take Down By The River, Cowgirl In The Sand, Harvest Moon, and Helpless off of this and replace them with Sugar Mountain, Cortez The Killer, Powderfinger, and Thrasher [or Campaigner]. But that is just personal taste.
