Free Music Review: Awesome R&B!

Here are many cool tracks on New Edition's fifth album. Despite the track listing,there are three additional tracks,these being short,non-musical snippets which each play at an average of five to ten seconds. Johnny Gill does a wonderful job again succeeding Bobby Brown who left the group in or around 1985 to go solo. Take notice,on one of the tracks,of a repeated excerpt from COOL IT NOW,a track from the group self-titled 1984 album. The rap line goes "Bobby,Ricky(Bell),Ronnie(DeVoe) and Mike(Bivins)". Anyone who knows the quintet intimately would know that Ralph Tresvant spoke those words. One Top 20 hit from this album is CAN YOU STAND THE RAIN? The other songs are awesome. After this album,Bell,Bivins and DeVoe would spin themselves off as Bell Biv DeVoe(in 1990). Also in 1990,Tresvant put out a solo album. In 1988,when this album was released,Brown released his second solo album,DON'T BE CRUEL. His first was released two years earlier,spawning the hit GIRLFRIEND. While Brown enjoyed success as a solo career,he married R&B diva Whitney Houston in 1992 and had a few brushes with the law for drug abuse and violence. Before Gill joined New Edition,he had a duet hit with Stacey Lattisaw in 1984,PERFECT COMBINATION.Free Music Review: Best New Jack Album Ever!!

Third of all my three favorite NE lps (the others are Candy Girl and New Edition). I still remember watching the video for If It Isn't Love for the first time on BET's Video Vibrations in the closing credits. That was some of their best choreography. I also love Crucial, Where It All Started, You're Not My Kind of Girl, NE Heartbreak, and the #1, Can You Stand The Rain. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis strikes again on this magnificent lp producing!!!! From Klymaxx and SOS Band to Janet Jackson and the new NE is a Super A+!!!!! If you don't own a copy of it, cop it now!!Free Music Review: "If it isn't love" then it is a "Heartbreak"

I think everything is been said about thie New Edition album. I still have a copy of it and I still listen to it. It is New Edition at its best. R&B in the 80s was just the best. "If it isn't love" is just such an awesome song. I have two different Maxi LP versions of this song. Yes! I have a turntable. I also have the Maxi LP for "You're not my kind a girl". It sounds just like the Video version. Anyways, let's not forget Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. These two guys are just geniouses. Put them together and the NE crew and you get a classic album.

Free Music Review: This Is What It Means

To come out with a "classic album" from start to finish. It is very easy to see that "Heartbreak" is one of the best New Edition albums they put out. If not one of the best albums out there period. Even if you've only heard this album once, i know that there is totally a song for anyone on this album. It has the slow jams "Boys To Men", "Can You Stand The Rain", "I'm Coming Home" and "Superlady". It also has its midtempo jams in "You're Not My Kind of Girl" which could be considered uptempo because it has a nice beat to it, along with some interesting sound/vocals as well. "NE Heartbreak" is a fun and entertaining song for me, it just NE describing there "many" fun run ins with various fans at a concert, in a limo and all that.
There isnt one song on this cd that i don't like and usually with me. At least there will be one song on a cd that i just can't stand that's not even the case here at all. I love everything about it and what i love most about it. New Edition doesn't have to resort to all out sexing up a woman to get her attention. They let their talent speak for them and it does in volumes. Vocals on point, songs/writing very much on point and pertinent with what was going on at the time for them and others at the same time. Dance routine/moves, come on this NE and when it came right down to it. They can/will knock those other groups out the box. Just look at the video for "If It Isn't Love" they went through some stuff on this video and it made the experience that much better.
Seeing New Edition in concert is totally a must and if i get the chance i will go again. Looking forward to NE for as long as they wanna continue making music.
"Heartbreak" is on heavy rotation on my cd player and will continue to be. Along with other NE cds as well....check out their latest cd on Bad Boy label as well.

Free Music Review: N.E. Classic.

This album is a classic R&B album that I haven`t been able to let go; even though I wasn`t alive when it first hit the shelves. Each member of the group really shines & performs well on each song.
Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvant were obviously competitive on this album since Johnny was the new member of the group. Johnny`s "Boys To Men" is one of the best tracks on the album & my personal favorite.
Some of my other favorites include: the memorable "If It Isn`t Love", the on-the-road-puppy-love song "N.E. Heartbreak", and the BEST song on the album..... "YOU`RE NOT MY KIND OF GIRL". I recommend this album for any New Edition fan, any R&B fan or anybody who loves good, fun music. BKLYNBABYLON signing off....
