I love this CD so,so much! Now,for my own little comments on each song:
God is not a secret 7/10 This song kinda sets the mood for the CD,not one of my favorites but,it's OK.
Take me to your leader 9/10 This one really draws you into the album,rock on!!
Breathe 6/10 This one has the best guitar in it,but the cymbals get on my nerves after a while.
Reality 8/10 Nicely done percussion!
Breakfast 11/10 I think you get the point!
Let it go 9/10 This one calms things down a bit,very nice acoustics!
Cup o' tea 10/10 This song probaly is the hardest song on the CD.
It's all who you know 7/10 Nice guitar riffs!
miracle child 8/10 Starts off slow,but kinda get's a beat.
Lost the plot 6/10 Probaly my least favorite,it's just too long!
Breathe (benediction)9/10 A very sweet melody,I love the way Phil sings on this one!
Overall,a very awesome sounding album.I highly recommend this!

The Newsboys 'Take me to your Leader' establishes itself along with Jars of Clay's self-titled album and DC Talk's 'Jesus Freak' as one of the three best Christian albums ever made. The Newsboys third release is a bit edgier than their previous efforts, as apparent in the first track, 'God is not a secret to be kept', as well as 'Breathe', 'Cup of Tea', and 'Lost the Plot'. Their dance/pop background still has an influence, and the title track, 'Reality', 'Breakfast', and 'It's all who you know' are as catchy as ever. Their lyrics have reached perfection, and are especially sharp in 'Let it Go', the most subdued of the songs, save for the benediction. I also think that it's the best song on the album- perhaps the best they've ever written. A brilliant effort by the Newsboys. I love this band. Not because they're bold preachers in music, not because they're funny, not because they can do a superb play on words and still have the message remain the same; I love this band because they're A-one musicians and know how to make music.This album is a blast. It's got it all: pain, humour, wit, pensive ponderings, a rollicking good time. The Newsboys have a sound all their own, and it's distinct and pure. Some of the best music you'll hear and they're on the vanguard of the Christian music industry. I always look forward to new releases (these guys are a thinking man's band and they put their 'thinks' to purely enjoyable tunes).
My fave cuts on this album are 'Take Me to Your Leader,' 'Breakfast,' and 'Breathe.' Get yourself a copy and enjoy.

The sound of a Newsboys album has changed through the years. But Take me to your leader is where I want Newsboys to be: In a rock setting, with catchy melodies. The lyrics are revealing the faith of six believers, often presentet in a humorous way. The songs are saying a lot about Gods kingdom and being a reborn christian. This album is an important piece in the big puzzle that have made this Australian/American/New Zealandian band one of the most important and popular in the history of christian rock music. We in Norway have been visited three times since the summer of 1996, and been given four concerts! I`ve been to three of them, and still just can`t get enough! Buy it! I have owned this album since the day it came out, and this is about the only album that I still listen to. I have listened to newsboys for a long time and this very album has in a wonderful way changed my life to see more of Christ and what He has done for you and me. In this album, Newsboys mixed in all of the cool rock and hard stuff that people like with the slow worship songs, and it is well mexed to where I hadly ever need to change my CD. This album has made a spot in my that will never be the same. Thanks to Newsboys for being there for me, even though all they did is write a song. If you need to get closer to God, or just want a fun album, this one is for you. Amen.
