Free Music Notes for Take Me to Your LeaderFree Music Review: The BEST of the Newsboys Hit: 5 Stars
This is a truly great CD. I used to not think much of it, until I started becoming very interested in rock, and started playing guitar and bass. One day I popped it in, and realized it was AWESOME!! It had catchy, funny, and meaningful lyrics, and many of the songs had driving guitar beats that I loved. I especially liked "Cup 'o' Tea", with its driving beat and cool lyrics. I also liked "God Is Not A Secret". That is a truly AWESOME song, with its awesome leading guitar, and meaningful, edgy lyrics that just BEG to be turned up. I also love John James voice. It sounds sooo cool. This is easily my favorite Newsboys album. Pick it up.
Free Music Review: The Newsboys' Best Hit: 5 Stars
This is definitely the very best of the Newsboys cds. I grew up listening to this cd. The lyrics (Steve Taylor, you rock!) are challenging and funny. The music is great, varied, and interesting- not just sounding like a variation on the same theme. The album art- alright, you get the message. Some of the best Christian music around- BUY THIS CD if you like Christian rock.
Has anyone else noticed that in the original case, if you take out the cd and pop out the plastic piece that holds the cd in place, there is a little picture of Peter Furler dressed up like an alien? With the plastic in place, all you can see is his eye...
Free Music Review: The definitive Newsboys album Hit: 5 Stars
Newsboys have always been on par with secular rock/pop/alternative artists, and this album is their best (though Thrive and Going Public would be close behind). I would also say that this album, Audio Adrenaline's "Bloom," and dc Talk's "Jesus Freak" hold a three-way tie for the greatest Christian rock albums of all time. All the songs are great musically and the lyrics are very creative and show a true love for Christ. The best and most emotional song on the album is "Lost the Plot." I think the present situation of the Christian church in America and Europe can be summed-up in that song.
Free Music Review: The Best Newsboys CD Hit: 5 Stars
My youth group had this cd and I really wanted it because some of the songs I heard were good. When I got it I liked listening to it over and over again! They sing a lot about their faith and their music and lyrics are so good. Most of their songs are really rocky and I love the song Breakfast. It has a good tune and the lyrics are really good. I really like Reality, God is Not a Secret, Take Me to Your Leader, Cup O' Tea, It's All Who You Know and Lost the Plot. If you like Rock or the band Newsboys and never heard of this cd, you should get it! All the kids in my youth group love this cd!
Free Music Review: Look out! the Newsboys rock! Hit: 5 Stars
Once again, the Australian pop outfit has struck pure gold. Abandoning the retro groove of "going public," Peter Furler and his bandmates experiment successfully with a broader range of more "organic" sounds. You'll be amazed at the clever lyrical touches on songs such as "Breakfast." Through all of their musical successes and innovations, the Newsboys continue to glorify God and serve as a spiritual inspiration. "Take Me To Your Leader" will remain a favorite for generations to come. Rock on, Boys!
