Free Music Notes for Thrive

Free Music Review: Newsboys transcendent.
Hit: 5 Stars

Far and away the greatest album the Newsboys put out. No other of their albums came close to the sound they perfected here. It's hard to explain, but there's a definite edge, not really grunge, not really punk--maybe something indie, dance, or European, but the pop-sensibility is there too, with a dose of techno (plus some weird rock/hip-hop fusion on John Woo and bawdy blues-iness on Giving It Over). Whatever it is, it works, and it transports you and gets inside your soul with its catchiness and its cleverness and its beauty. This was the height of the Newsboys' career as far as I am concerned, and while their stuff after was really sharp and well-produced, and just as addictive as anything they'd ever done, it lacked the punch and vigor of Thrive. A true masterpiece.

Free Music Review: What my words can't express-this album does
Hit: 5 Stars

I have had this album for a few years now and it has become like an old friend to me. This album has gotten me through many rough days and has been along for the ride on many great days. "Million Pieces" actually makes me feel like a new person when I hear it! This album reminds me of what I have in God with songs like "Rescue" and "Giving it Over". There is a fantastic variety and plenty of songs to roll up the windows and sing your heart out to. And of course, no sappy, irritating songs that are so common on CCM radio. I generally skip songs 8 and 9 and I have to be in the right mood for "Cornelius" but it can be a fun one sometimes. And the first 7 songs alone make this album worth its weight in gold anyway- so in short- I highly reccomend this one!

Free Music Review: Another excellent addition to the Newsboys collection...
Hit: 5 Stars

This cd follows in the footsteps of the previous Newsboys releases in that the music is excellent and the lyrics are filled with meaning. This cd reminds me more of Step up to the Microphone than Love, Liberty, Disco as far as the music. I have been a long time fan of this group, and I am again impressed with their new collection of songs. My only complaint is that the cd is only 37 minutes long, and the music is too good to end that quickly. I would recommend this cd to any Newsboys fan and anyone else that is looking for great music combined with great lyrics. There is no hiding behind words or music here, the Newsboys lay out their faith and God's incredible grace for all to hear.

Simply said, this is an excellent album.

Free Music Review: Their single most unbelievable album ever
Hit: 5 Stars

This cd has made the Newsboys my favorite band in the world. Not just Christian band, they are the BEST. My favorite songs on this album are:
Cornelius
Lord
It Is You
Million Pieces
Thrive
Live In Stereo
Rescue
Fad of the Land

All of these song are wonderfully written and it shows just how talented the Newsboys are. I'm afraid if they come out with another album after this one it will be in no way as good..it couldn't possibly. Maybe they should call it quits now while they have still done great work with every album...they don't need to keep writing until they lose their touch. Great work boys. If you do come out with anything else, PLEASE make sure it's at least as good as *THRIVE*

Free Music Review: awesome
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a great cd for any music fan and it will be greatly appriciated by hard core newsboys fans as they return to the style of albums like take me leader and step up to the microphone with edgy pop and rock combos. This cd incorperates everything a christian music fan would want, with hard rock tracks like "Cornelius" "Giving it Over" "Live in Stereo" and "Fad of the Land". It also has worship with tracks "Thrive" "Million Pieces" and "Lord I don't Know".
This cd also has good promise in having some secular hits because you can hear hints of other bands in their music such as Smash Mouth, Lenny Kravitz, and U2. I recommend this album to any rock fan.
