I love Nick Carter's Album! It's good, I've always been a big fan of Nick every since the early days of The Backstreet Boys. He's always been my favorite singer. I love his voice because it's sweet yet sexy. kinda like a good boy with a bad boy side. here is my reviews of the songs on the album.1. Help Me: I love this song because it was the first song I heard of Nick on his own and I think it really speaks to alot of people, Both young and old, because we've all been/going to be where Nick is talking about in this song. It's also a very good song to dance to. 2. My Confession: This is is soooooo good! I love it, Nick sings the song very well and I think the song is also very true with alot of people. 3. I Stand For You: I think this song really fits the college guys and girls because it's very true, and I think it really tells how they feel, Because they're free from parents and from high school. All in All it's a VERY good song! 4. Do I have To Cry For You: The first time I heard this song I cried! It's so sweet and touching and it has helped my friend through her break up with her boyfriend of 3 years. 5. Girls In The USA: I love this song! Free Music Review: Surprisingly Very Good Album Hit: 5 Stars
I must admitt, when I heard Nick Carter was doing a solo album and BSB's new album was being delayed, I wasn't very happy. Nick has never been my favorite Backstreet Boy *that goes to Brian* but i ended up likung "Help Me", so of course I purchased it and WHOA! This is a kick butt album! Here's my song by song low-down on "Now Or Never": 1. Help Me: The first single. Good song. I think there are better songs on here that could've been the first single, but this song is still a catchy pop tune. It's a shame Jive didn't promote it well. Grade: A- 2. My Confession: Definitely a high point on the album. This song is awesome and should have been the first single. Catchy chorus and great instrumentals. Grade: A+ 3. I Stand For You: The energy keeps on flowing and reaching a peak on this track. Fantastic pop/rock song. Perfect for blasting in the car. Grade: A+ 4. Do I Have To Cry For You: This is to be the 2nd single. It's a pretty ballad with piano and emotional vocals from Nick. Grade: A 5. Girls In the USA: Another sort of pop/rock song where Nick gets to cut loose. Lots of power but not one of my favorites. Grade: B- 6. I Got You: This song is gorgeous. Vocally, it's Nick's finest moment. This would make a great single. Written by Max Martin yet surprisingly doesn't sound like his usual BSB/*N Sync/Britney stuff. Grade: A+ 7. Is It Saturday Yet: My least favorite on the album. It's not horrible or anything, but lyrically, it's not the greatest. Grade: C+ 8. Blow Your Mind: With a sort of 80's/New Wave vibe, this is a stand-out. Definitely catches your ear. Grade: A 9. Miss America: This is the sexual song. May not exactly be suitable for young kids with lyrics like "Take it off" and "Get it on" but it stills adds some flava for the older audience. Not great, but not bad either. Grade: B 10. I Just Wanna Take You Home: Adding to the versatile mixture of "Now Or Never", this song has a punk/pop feel. Cool song. Grade: B+ 11. Heart Without A Home: Another piano ballad. Beautiful song and a nice addition to the album. Grade: A 12. Who Needs the World: Another high point on the album. Excellent closing. The song is catchy as hell and would also make a great single. Grade: A+ In closing, this album has a bit of everything. Some songs may not be your thing, but some you might find really enjoyable. Nick definitely offers something different than the other huge pop names *BSB, Britney, *N Sync, Justin, Christina.* He has recorded a great album that doesn't alienate his BSB fans, but at the same time allows himself to aquire new fans *maybe even somewhat of a male fanbase.* Two words...BUY IT!
Free Music Review: Very Good! Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this CD the day it came out and I can't stop listening to it. If you like Rock/Pop this CD is DEFINITELY for you. 1. Help Me 8/10~the words are a little hard to make out, but there's lyrics inside the CD Jacket. He's singing about how confused he is and how he's trying to figure himself and the world out. 2. My Confession 9/10~it's a cute song. He's trying to figure out what's wrong with someone. 3. I Stand For You 9/10~it's got a nice beat to it. He's Singing about how he's always going to be there for you. Together we stand, basically. And that he's free to feel and say what he wants. 4. Do I Have To Cry For You 10/10~it's got a VERY nice Bryan Adams feel to it. He's singing about realtionship problems. Like, we can find a way through this, no more fighting. 5. Girls In The USA 8/10~I like this song. It's got kind of a funky vibe to it. It reminds me of these cheers. He's talking to all the "Girls In The USA". 6. I Got You 10/10~ I love this song. It's one of my favorites on this album. He's singing about how people judge him and how he always tries to prove them wrong, until someone comes along and makes him see the truth of things and that no one can touch as long as he's "Got You". He's also thanking that person in the song. 7. Is It Saturday Yet? 10/10~It's a VERY CUTE song. I thought it was awesome. The ending is very funny. He mentions his little brother, Aaron Carter, in it. 8. Blow Your Mind 9/10~this song is talking about this one girl that will "Blow Your Mind". He met this girl at a club and they hit it off. 9. Miss America 8/10~he's talking about a girl he sees. He finds her very attractive and he can't get her out of his head. It's kind of for a little more mature people. 10. I Just Wanna Take You Home 9/10~it's got a good vibe to it. He's talking about he wants to take a girl home and have them make their own story. And how he's being traditional when all he really wants is to date in his own way, instead of of it being all traditional. 11. Heart Without A Home(I'll Be Yours) 10/10~it's a VERY good song. He's talking about this one girl who's all happy on the outside but on the inside she's alone. And how he'll be hers, her somebody so she's not alone anymore. 12. Who Needs The World? 10/10~I like this song too. He's talking about why does he need the world when he's got this one girl. That she's all he needs. All in all, this album is wonderful. The songs are very deep, especially since he co-wrote most of it. He put a lot of his heart and soul in it.
Free Music Review: AWESOME SOLO ALBUM FOR NICK!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
THIS IS NOT JOSEPH. I AM HIS OLDEST DAUGHTER. (My dad can't STAND the fact that I like Nick.)
As you all probably know by the rest of my reviews, Nick is my favorite Backstreet Boy. I love this CD to DEATH (I'm listen to it as I write this!) and now that I have it, I can give Nick the proper review. Below is my rating of each song:
1. Help Me: 10000/10!: I love everything about this song (Nick's vocals, the lyrics, the music . . etc.) The video is great too.
2. My Confession: 10/10. Sweet song. Nick co-wrote it, and it shows a caring side of him.
3. I Stand For You: 10/10. I love the music. Nick co-wrote this too. Awesome. Enough said.
4. Do I Have To Cry For You: ONE MILLION/10! What can I say about this song? It's my favorite song on the CD. Pure GENIUS. The music, the lyrics, Nick's vocals, it's PERFECT. Nick co-wrote this song and I love it to DEATH. It shows he's so much more than a pretty face. My favorite part is when Nick starts yelling at the end "oooooooh yeeaaahhhhhh!" He sounds great.
5. Girls In The USA: 100/10. Okay, this song has its good and bad points. Good point: the music and fun of the track. The "rock-star" rhythm is tight. Good job on that, Nick.
6. I Got You: ONE MILLION. I LOVE THIS SONG. I find myself singing along with Nick everytime I play it. My fav part of the song is probably the third verse through the end. Nick's voice sounds FLAWLESS.
7. Is It Saturday Yet?: 100/10! Silliest song on the album (refers to the "Jerry Springer" verse) but great!
8. Blow Your Mind: ONE MILLION/10! This song is my second favorite song on the CD. The music makes me wanna get up and dance. And I love the way Nick sings it.
9. Miss America: 100/10! Yet another good and bad point song. Bad Point - Nick trying to be sexual: NICK! Stop with the fantasies . . . lol. Good point - Nick trying to be sexual. Enough said. But seriously, it's a great song, and Nick's got the raspy voice thing down.
10. I Just Wanna Take You Home: 100/10! This song is the bomb! Enough said.
11. Heart Without A Home: ONE MILLION/10! This song is beautiful and Nick sounds great singing it. Great lyrics, especially the part when it makes the "you're the bluebird in my sky" comparison.
12. Who Needs The World: ONE MILLION/10! An amazing closing. Nick's voice sounds sooooo BEAUTIFUL, especially when he hits the high notes.
In conclusion: GO BUY THIS CD You won't be disappointed.
Free Music Review: "Now or Never" - my review Hit: 5 Stars
Although "Help Me" may be the fist single and first track on this cd it is clear to this listener that this CD is no cry for help. Nick Carter needs no aid where these songs are concerned. From the first note of "Help Me" to the fade out of "Who Needs The World" this CD will hold any listeners attention. There isn't a song on here that should be skipped over. Nick Carter comes in to his own on this collection of amazing tunes. His emotion-filled voice sings each lyric from the heart and draws the listener in to the feelings involved in the song. This CD has something for everyone. With ballads like "Do I Have To Cry For You" Nick reaches deeply and sings with everything he has inside, giving nothing less than the best. His clear voice ringing out powerful and strong. In a more upbeat fun tune, he has "Is It Saturday Yet" in which the total rock sound comes out in full effect. Any person who chooses to not overlook his 'boyband' beginnings, is surely missing out on one heck of a talent. This man not only shines as a singer, but he also shows huge promise as a songwriter. Every song on this album surpassed even my wildest expectations. It has quickly become a continuously played CD in my car, in my home and at the office. In today's day and age, we're continually bombarded on the radio by songs that contain lyrics that make little to no sense at all. In a world where how much spandex you wear or what gimmic you choose is equal to how much airplay you get, this CD is a refreshing change of pace. The simplistic sound of the truth come through in the words and voice of Nick Carter. He sings emotionally without sounding fake. He doesn't need to work to make us believe that he believes in himself and in the songs. It's a natural talent that shines from each and every track on this CD. The songs speak on a universal level that anyone and everyone understands. This CD isn't about flash, glamour and glitz, it's about the music. It is not about being popular or hitting the top of the charts... but rather about the truth and experiences that we all face in our lives. It is that fact that makes this CD unique from so many on the store shelves these days. With a heart touching voice and a talent for lyrics, Mr. Carter is an individual who deserves nothing but the highest recognition of the music industry as an amazing talent in his own right, and not just as one fifth of a popular boyband. In my opinion, this CD is just the start of a wonderful solo career for Nick Carter. I, for one, cannot wait to see where this road leads him.
