Free Music Notes for Now Or NeverFree Music Review: The Best CD ever! Hit: 5 Stars
Okay I love this album. It totally rocks! 1) Help Me: The first single off the album. I love it. When I first heard it, I was shocked. Nick took the rock road instaed of the pop road. I still love it. It suits him. 5/5 2) My Confession: Another one of my favs. I love his voice in this song. I can totally relate to it. Oh and the lyrics really rock. 5/5 3) I Stand For You: I love the beat. It's really good. His voice is really edgy in this song. Not the greatest lyrics, though. 4/5 4) Do I Have To Cry For You?: I love his voice in this song. Especially when he does the high pitch. It's not like Justin Timberlakes at all. The second single off his album. I love the video too. He knows how to make me swoon. 5/5 5) Girls In The U.S.A.: I absolutely, positively love this song! I love the beat, the lyrics, and everything. He should make a video of this song. Mr. Vegas adds to the song. (He stars in this song, not in "I Got You.") 5++++/5 6) I Got You: Okay I saw the video for this song and I loved it. I love the lyrics. The beat is kinda drozy, but it's still the best. 4/5 7) Is It Saturday Yet?: Another fav of mine. I love his motivation for this song. The lyrics rock. I love when he mentions Jerry Springer, Martha Stewart, and Aaron Carter. It totally flows together. 5++/5 8) Blow Your Mind: I love this beat. The lyrics are okay. I love the chorus. It has a good flow to it. Another example of Nick's crossover music type. 4++/5 9) Miss America: The lyrics are pretty good. Kinda sounds like a sex song. I guess it does. I love the slow nice beat. 4/5 10) I Just Wanna Take You Home: I love this song. The lyrics are hilarious. It's really good. I "just want to take Nick home." I mean, doesn't everyone? 4+++/5 11) Heart Without A Home: Okay this is my favorite slow song ever. We danced it at my prom. That's where I met my current boyfriend. It's the best. The lyrics rock! 5+++/5 12) Who Needs The World?: Another one of my favorite slow songs. We danced this at my prom too. I love it. My bf and I kissed at this song. Our first kiss. I love it. 5++++/5 To me, Nick sounds like Bryan Adams. He should make another album like this one. I love this album soo much! Amazon should know that Mr. Vegas is featured in "Girls In The U.S.A." not "I Got You." I love him. He is sooo hott!
Free Music Review: simply amazing Hit: 5 Stars
This new album by Nick amazes me. His first effort without the boys is definitely a noteable one. His voice sounds outstanding. He has the raspiness and also sexuality that makes every girl who basically grew up loving Nick, get goosebumps. He shows the world that not only is he fully capable of being on his own, but that he has a strong ability to write as well. Songs such as "Miss America" and "Blow Your Mind" show a Backstreet fan that there really are a lot of different sides to Nick. In "Miss America," Nick sings the lyrics "take it off, take it off.. let's get it on, get it on." I have to say, I was surprised to hear Nick sing that way, because I had no idea he was this expressive. There is no doubt, though, that this is my favorite song. Also songs like "I Got You" and "Do I Have To Cry For You" are amazing. We all have really only been intoduced to the Nick Carter, youngest member of the Backstreet Boys. Now, he is making a new name for himself, and I am in love with his new attitude, and style as well. Since 1997, I have been a HUGE Nick fan, so I know you are probably thinking I'd like just about anything that he came out with. That's not always the case, however, this new album amazes me. I think, like most Backstreet Boys fans, I was a little leery of hearing Nick's album, and him being alone, but I got the opportunity to preview the album in full in mid-October, and Nick's performance on it was truly amazing. I was floored. He really out did himself on his album. He sings from the heart, and shares stories about his life, and to me that is a true singer with heart. Nick has shown us all, that yes, he indeed is still a Backstreet Boy, but he's a man now, and he's sharing it with the world. I LOVE IT. Go out and get "Now Or Never," Nick Carter's first solo debut. He has, yet again, made me so proud to say I'm a fan. Now that I've been a fan for 5 years, Nick still makes me smile when he talks, and keeps me amazed. Way to go Nick, mission accomplished. ;-D

Here comes another line of artists coming from the same branch. First it was the boybands, then the pop princesses. Now it's the members from the boybands breaking out from the group and going solo. Critics are going to immediately compare and critique and try to point out every single similarity possible. But you can't compare Carter's album with a Backstreet Boys' album or Justin Timberlake's solo album. It is his own brand of music, separate from his roots of BSB yet reminiscent of it. Along with that, there are splashes of 80s' rock, that of Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi. HELP ME - Carter's first single, definitely set the mark that his music will not be what you expect it to be, exactly like BSB. Deeper meanings are embedded in the lyrics. Similar to the music out there by Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton. DO I HAVE TO CRY FOR YOU - Carter's 2nd single. Monster ballad with a wonderful piano and guitar accompaniment. May not hit it big on radio due to the music cycle that's hot now. But it's definitely a timeless song. Carter sings very passionately on this track, it wrenches the hearts of all who listen. You can hear the Bryan Adams influence. BLOW YOUR MIND - Definitely has single potential. Bon Jovi-ish, sounds like "It's My Life", but that's because it's by the same people. Will get your head bobbing, at the least. MISS AMERICA - Very sensual. Girls swoon, imagining Carter singing this song to them. "Take it off, take it off. Let's get it on, get it on." Carter definitely shines on his solo album. The spotlight is solely his and he makes the best of it. He no longer stands in the shadows of his bandmates and is able to express himself freely, without consideration of anybody else. Carter co-writes most of the songs on his solo effort. This album has been in my CD player ever since I got it. It's got songs for any mood you're in. Definitely a must have.
