Free Music Notes for Now Or NeverFree Music Review: It's Now baby! Hit: 5 Stars
Nick Carter is the first member of one of the Backstreet Boys, one of the best selling bands of this decade, to go solo. It's not "now or never" it's NOW. First he start's off with the Bryan Adams sounding tune "Help me" ..his voice is raspy in parts of it..strong chorus. Then he gets into his rock side with "my confession",a typical love song, "i stand for you",another love song with a rock edge, and "blow your mind" a song about a vicious girl that seeks out Nick for how famous he is. "Blow your mind" sounds like Bon-Jovi with it's rock touch, but it's an excellent song. "Do i have to cry for you", undoubtly the best ballad on Carter's album, is the typical love ballad about a guy proclaiming things to the one he loves. "Is it saturday yet" is a cheesy pop/dance song that's good when you need a laugh or just want to get up and dance. "Girl's in the USA", Carter's dedication to his female fans of the United States of America is definitely a dance song. "Miss America", an oath to that "perfect, beautiful girl" that everyone wants to be. "Heart without a home" sounds like o-town's "All or nothing" in some parts but it's a beautiful ballad once again. "Who needs the world", some may say would compare to the soft-smooth notes of Savage Garden's "Truly,Madly,Deeply" but it's Carter's last ballad that shows how one person can make a day seem brighter. Carter wrote 5 songs on the album and it is by no means a dissappointment. Nick has a lot of potential to do well as a solo artist, but I think that many people are happy with him being a good old Backstreet Boy.
Free Music Review: we're not on the backstreets anymore Hit: 5 Stars
If you saw the Backstreet Boys on their most recent tour, you saw a grown up Nick Carter straining to break free. Younger and cuter than his four bandmates, Nick was the one who loved '80s rock and tried to incorporate as much passion as he could into the pre-packaged BSB stage shows. With "Now or Never," Nick finally gets a chance to do what he wants, and the results will more than satisfy those who have believed in him, and surprise those non-fans who think he's headed for oblivion. Nick proves he has the talent to remain a vital player in the music industry long after BSB's fading star has finally burnt out. His musical influences are evident here: Nick easily handles power ballads in the tradition of Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi-like anthem rock, or catchy melodies reminiscent of Prince, and he does it all while clearly having a great time. Even the song I thought for sure I'd hate (it's called "Miss America"---how can you like a song with a title like that?!) turned out to be a stand-out track. Nick's found his niche, and it's more than just looking cute in a boy band. (Only drawback to the CD? A great song, "Payback," is available only on the import single version of "Help Me.") Because of the Backstreet backlash, Nick will have to work harder to earn mainstream respect, and his previous success will work against him, but as someone who loves and is open to all kinds of music, I encourage you to give this CD a chance. There is a lot of good stuff here that deserves to be heard. Nick Carter is not just for teenyboppers anymore.
Free Music Review: A new Bryan Adams? Probably ;) Hit: 5 Stars
Most of you people know Nick Carter as the blond BSB one and most of you wouldn't believe he has enough talent to do a solo album, an AMAZING album may I add. I promise that buying his album won't dissapoint you in anyway. He's always been influenced by 80's music, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams and stuff like that. All his music tastes has left a stain on his first and amazing solo album. And if it's about which music his songs reminds me of, I'd probably mention Hanson. The songs on his albums go from the soft-rock-pop ballad type to rock songs like Blow Your Mind that can top and even surpase lots of people on his genre. Personally I think he's so talenten and hopefully he's bringing some of the 80's soft rock back. In this album he doesn't just show his talent singing but writing too. He's written and co-written half of the songs on the album. In his album there are uptempo pop songs like Help Me or My Confession, amazing ballads like Heart Without A Home or Do I Have To Cry For You or songs like just make you want to jump like Just Wanna Take You Have. If you want BSB style music you will probably not enjoy this album as much as if you are more into the soft-rock music style, so if you are one of those go and buy it, probably some day he will become the 'new' Bryan Adams he's kind of rehearsing to be now. I highly recommend you to buy his album, his songs give nothing but happines (because that's what he's put on it when writting it) and that was why music was created for, right?
Free Music Review: Backstreet Boy doing better than ever!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Now Or Never is one the the best if not THE best album I have listened too! 1.)Help Me: shows that Nick is human just as much as the rest of us (I already knew that but for other people). It is a nice mid-tempo song that is very catchy. 2.)My Confession: an other nice mid-tempo song. One of the 2 more pop songs on Nick's album. Shows how he has had some girl problem. 3.)I Stand For You: shows that Nick has a lot of attitude and it is just waiting to come out! Real nice up-tempo song. 4.)Do I Have To Cry For You: the first slow song on the album. You can really feel the pain Nick feels in the that song. 5.)Girls In The USA: gives Nick a chance to give a shot out to all the girls that love him across the USA. a very nice mid-tempo song. 6.)I Got You: the other pop song on the album. Very nice mid-tempo. Shows that he wount let the world interfere with is relationships. 7.)Is It Saturday Yet?: an awesome up-tempo song. shows Nick wild & crazy side! 8.)Blow Your Mind: my fav up-tempo song. Shows how wants girls to be but then also how is is afraid of how they will treat him. 9.)Miss America: a nice mid-tempo song. shows a little dirtier side to nick, that he loves women. 10.)I Just Wanna Take You Home: nice up-tempo song. shows what Nick really thinks when takes you on a date. 11.)Heart Without A Home: my fav slow song. shows a very sweet side to Nick. 12.)Who Needs The World: nice slow song. shows Nick can be a one girl guy. That sums up this awesome album. So make sure you go out and buy it now!
Free Music Review: Wow, a beautiful album... Hit: 5 Stars
I'll be honest, when I got this CD, I wasn't too sure I liked it. I hadn't liked "Help Me" too much, and I figured the entire album was like the first single. I was very much mistaken. A lot of people say that this album sucks, but I believe it's because they won't give the album a chance because the Backstreet Boys hadn't released a song in quite a while, and Nick is just not as high profile. All of Nick's songs work. They flow into each other perfectly. It is almost like we see a different side of Nick, a side that we weren't seeing when he was with the Backstreet Boys. The romantic songs are there, obviously, but it's the rock songs that surprised me. He somehow managed to make them work so you could dance to them and relate to them. I felt like Nick really did put a piece of himself into the music. All the lyrics just work. It is honestly an album that I can listen to while trying to chill out, as well as trying to party. There are your love songs that seem to work better than most boy band's songs do, and then there are your rock songs that surprise all Nick fans. And as for "Help Me", well that grew on me, and it's become a song that I not only like, but one that I can relate to. It seems obvious while listening to the record that Nick is trying to totally differentiate himself from the BSB. I'm actually sorry that this album did as bad as it did. I have a lot of respect for him for wanting to release another.
