Let's get one thing straight - I'm not a music critic, I'm just somebody who knows what they like, and I like this. A lot. My sister originally introduced me to Nickleback: I bought 'Silver Side Up' on her recommendation and have been hooked ever since. No subsequent purchase has been a disappointment, and 'Dark Horse' is no exception. There are no surprises, no deviating from the addictive Nickleback formula (heavy guitar, thunderous drums and complex lyrics), just good, good music.
But don't take my word for it: stick this album on and TURN IT UP! It's great for bad moods...

Ok i see all the bashing of this piece of work. It is different than the other CD's Nickelback has released. I waited a while to review this one. I got it the day it was released. From the first listen I liked it. it has that sound that makes it Nickelback but its more polished than ever ( Mutt Lange has that reputation...)It has some edge on it but it also has a mature feel to it. I know the lyrics are sleazy at times but the music is NOT serious. Its good times, living and enjoying the hear and now. I have seen them in concert several times. They are definately worth seeing live.

I've been a die hard Nickelback fan since I saw them on MTV a few years back, and have been amazed by how great their musical career is progressing. I remember the day i saw the video for "How You Remind Me", and I instantly fell in love with this band. Chad has one of the greatest vocals in the history of hard rock;and his guitar skills prove that he's God in comparison to over rated guitarist of the past.
This CD demonstrates their ability to make another superb album, regardless of what negative critics say. 5 stars is not enough for this band or album.

Dark HorseAll the Right Reasons
This group is absolutely the best. I have never gotten a song that I was disappointed in. You know how sometimes you buy an album and then find that there's really only a few songs on the whole thing that you really like. Well, on these everyone is great. They keep you rockin. I would recommend Nichelback to anyone that really loves rock.

If I could add more stars I would. Nickelback doesn't just make songs. They create stories in a span of three to four minutes. They can sing about addiction in one tune and then croon about how far someone would go for the one they love in the next. Mind you though these songs are not for the faint of heart or for sensitive ear drums. These are gut-punching tunes that stick in your head and disturb the neighbors if you jack up the volume enough. Other than that if you've never listened to Nickelback before, this is an excellent album to start off with!
