Free Music Review: Songs: good. Album: Great!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is actually my favorite Nightwish album, even though none of the individual songs make it onto my top 5 list of Nightwish songs. The thing about this album is that it is Nightwish's only real concept album. So, if you are a fan of that type of thing (and I most certainly am), I'd highly recommend this album. However, if you favor putting your MP3 player on shuffle and making compilation disks over listening to albums straight through, than you might rather spend your money on another Nightwish album. In my opinion, most of the songs can only really be fully appreciated in their proper context in the album.
However, even if you aren't a fan of concept albums, there are songs on this album that truly can hold their own such as End of All Hope, Dead to the World, and Phantom of the Opera. In any case, this album is definitely worth your money, it's just a matter of whether you consider it a good deal or a great deal.

Free Music Review: Epic, a Masterpiece
Hit: 5 Stars

When I initially listened to this CD, I thought to myself, -'this is mediocre' .. I listened to it again, and wow, I then took notice, this CD is simply amazing. I listened to 'Dead to the World' at least 4 times on my drive to work this morning. The first 3 on this album set the mood pretty well for the rest of the album. This is no less than Epic.

'Wishmaster' was the album that got me into Nightwish, then I got 'Once' and now recently 'Century Child'.. I am amazed.

Oh yeah, and pay no attention to the negative reviews, the guitar work in this album is actually pretty good. Not the heaviest, not the most technical, but it flows perfectly. Let me just say this, the musicianship of Nightwish is absolutely amazing. So don't let the negative reviews sway you too much, if they do, you are missing out on some amazing music artistry, music with real meaning.

Free Music Review: Stunning
Hit: 5 Stars

Before I had gotten this album, I'd never heard anything by Nightwish before, and I decided to give them a try. Now I must say I'm stunned. The only thing more addictive than a night of caffeine & coding must be a night of caffeine and coding with Nightwish blasting in the background. Nothing about the album feels static as it keeps changing as it goes on. A trained opera singer chick in a metal band? Definitely a nice twist. Unlike your typical band it seems they're throwing every instrument out there into the picture, and achieving spectacular results from it. I especially liked the tracks "Ocean Soul" and "Dead to the World", some great stuff there, even though the whole album seems to be getting more than its fair share of playtime. I think this is probably the most powerful album I own. Go ahead and shell out the cash, you surely won't be disappointed.

Free Music Review: Not the End of All Hope!
Hit: 5 Stars

Nightwish truly went through the roof with this album...this album sold many copies all over the world. This melodic heavy metal band comes from Finland and it has a female vocalist, Tarja Turunen and she comes from Kitee...she has a beatiful voice...the best vocalist in Finland. The songs in this album are quite strong..."Bless the Child", the killer "Slaying the Dreamer", "End of All Hope" (sounds like "Wishmaster"), the cover song "Phantom of the Opera", "Dead to the World" are quite popular live tracks...just like the ballad "Ever Dream". Some songs are quite underrated..."Ocean Soul" and "Beauty of the Beast" for example...they are beautiful songs...why they are never played in the gigs? "Forever Yours" and "Feel for You" are the only weak links in this album...they are basic ballads.
Stars: Slaying the Dreamer, Ever Dream, Bless the Child

Free Music Review: Get Nightwish CENTURY CHILD NOW!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

First of all... Nighwish is the best band ever!!! I will talk a little about their newest album CENTURY CHILD.... For me its their best ALBUM so far... you can see how much they have grown with the years , you can see a lot of maturity on the lyrics and everything.... its their most agressive album so far... also they has a new Bassist Marco Hietala who is one of the best male singers I ever heard!!! you know , 2 powerful vocalist on a band??? isnt that great?!??? damn...I loved Wishmaster , Oceanborn and Angel's fall first... but CENTURY CHILD for me its better in a lot of ways... the only bad thing about it , its that Tarja has toned down a lil bit , but it is ok because it fits with the lyrics.... there is NOT any changes between the import version of CC and the USA version of CC.... if you dont have it , go and GET IT NOW!!!!!
