Free Music Notes for Century ChildFree Music Review: Nightwish has turned it up a notch! Hit: 5 Stars
First of all, I'm very surprised about this cd! I purchased Wishmaster over the summer, in Florida, while on vacation, and I liked what I heard. For what I'm looking for in a power metal band, Century Child hits a homerun! Tarja, as usual, is a fantastic vocalist, but along with that, the band just flat out packs a heavy PUNCH! Nightwish offers more than just a bunch of boring, fast riffs, like many other bands seem to be obsessed with! Nightwish's Century Child offers a great balance of lead and background vocals, moderately paced, heavy songs, and great all around musicanship! After listening to this cd, I'm finding myself wanting to buy their live DVD. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with in the future. Buy it, turn it up, and enjoy...stay heavy!
Free Music Review: One of the most awesome cds ever Hit: 5 Stars
For Nightwish fans out there this cd is a must (so are all they're other cds). I enjoyed this cd so much because they had a male vocalist. I like the regular vocalist very well but I liked it that they used two vocalists. The most awesome songs on this cd was "Dead to the World" because of incredable keyboards and a really cool duet. But probably the best song on this or any other Nightwish cd was "The Phantom of the Opera" the way they did that song was awesome. It does justice to the original version. All and I liked this one very well the only one that is on the level of this one is "Oceanborn" (it's actually better). All Nightwish cds are superb but this one and "Oceanborn" stand out above all others.
Free Music Review: Nightwish knockout album , from fan of prog / power metal Hit: 5 Stars
This wasn't the first Nightwish album I have listened to, nor is it the firs in the genre I have loved, but I think this album deserves special praise for its amazing songs. I have a limited 192mb mp3 player that I use to walk between classes, and nightwish century child has maintained a good 40% standing on that mp3 player for a few months now. 'Dead to the World', 'Ocean Soul', 'Ever Dream' are killer. I've introduced many friends to 'ever dream' who have never heard this type of music before and they have immediately loved it! If you read reviews and think that these albums all sound the same, give this a listen! Beautiful female vocals, no growling death, melodic. Ocean sent.
Free Music Review: Another good Nightwish album. Hit: 5 Stars
I've been listening to Heavy Metal for seven years and I have heard a lot different bands. But Nightwish always unleashes something new and different with each release, the band never sounds the same which is something that appeals to me. Century Child is a huge step in the band's career, as they aquired their new bassist and male vocalist Marco Hietala. While the entire album is great, the songs that I'm most attached to are: "Dead To The World", "Slaying The Dreamer", and "Everdream." This is a very talented group of indivduals and I highly recommend this to fans of "Edenbridge", "Lacuna Coil", "Within Temptation", "Darkwell", "Visions of Atlantis", "Leave's Eyes", etc...
Free Music Review: Nightwish never fails! Hit: 5 Stars
This was the second album I bought of Nightwish (the first was "Once...), and again, Nightwish never fails to release such an entrancing album. The lyrics are step up, Marco comes along (yeah!) and Tarja's voice soars higher than before. Some tracks on the album will always be immortal:
Bless the Child
Slaying the Dreamer
Ever Dream
Ocean Soul
Phantom of the Opera (stunning version)
This is a slight step down from Wishmaster, but still, if you really pay attention to the heart of the lyrics, every song is beautiful and stands strong on its own. This must in your library if you love metal! NW forever!
