I have followed Nightwish from the very beginning and watched them progress from a small-time group to the world-acclaimed band they have become. I must say that during the later years it felt like the former singer Tarja didn't seem to have her heart in the music as much as the other artists did and that was a true shame because they started as a really great group. Now that Tarja is out of the picture it is like listening to a whole new style for the group. I gotta say their music is absolutely awesome on this album! Perhaps getting rid of Tarja was the catalyst for their edgy new sound, perhaps thats what they were destined for all along. But this album is edgy, filled with good lyrics, has some awesome instrumental work, and above all features music with some heart to it. This album is AWESOME!!!Free Music Review: New Blood

My favorite band is back and they have a new lead singer. I will admit she does not give me goose bumps the way her predecessor did, she is still very talented. I give this CD 5 Stars because even with a different singer, no other Gothic band can compare to the heart and soul of Nightwish.Free Music Review: Nightwish is Outstanding!

I was hesitant about Nightwish with a new vocalist, but the voices and music are as good as ever, if not better. The Poet and the Pendulum is an orchestrated piece of passion, though Amaranth and Eva are beautiful, as well. Any fan of Nightwish will want this CD, and anyone interested in glorious, passionate music with a drive will not be able to resist. Long live Nightwish!Free Music Review: My favorite album yet

I personally believe that this is the best album yet. Some of the traditionalist nightwish fans may disagree but I actually prefer the new lead singer to Tarja. Her voice, I think, adds a pleasant new sound to the already amazing nightwish sound. Free Music Review: Could be the best CD I own.

I am a new comer to the Nightwish nation. I first heard them last year 2006, and after hearing one song, I had to buy every CD they had.
The new singer is great. Different than the old one, but still great. It's like Sabbath with Ozzy and Sabbath with Dio. That's how I compare new and old Nightwish.
Dark Passion Play may be the best CD I own. It immediately shot up my personal album chart along side of, do I dare say, Rush 2112. That's how much I like this album from Nightwish. I saw them on tour in October 2007, and they were awesome live too.
