Free Music Review: Brings back a LOT of memories

I have been a wrestling fan (some would say "nut") for about 22 years, so I have seen 'em all (ICW, Georgia, Mid-Atlantic, AWA, World Class, WWA, Global, SMW, USWA, CWF [Alabama], Florida, ECW, and the WWF). I had The Wrestling Album on cassette many years ago, and I listened to it a LOT. I gave the tape to somebody several years later, and I missed listening to Roddy Piper's ramblings on "Land Of 1000 Dances" and "For Everybody" ("For Everybody" is my favorite on this CD), Capt. Lou Albano's ramblings on "Capt. Lou's History Of Music/Capt. Lou" (my least favorite track), Mean Gene gettin' down with his bad self on "Tutti Frutti" (a surprisingly good track), JYD & Vicki Sue Robinson (yes, THAT Vicki Sue Robinson) gettin' the funk down on "Grab Them Cakes" (another good track), and "Hulk Hogan's Theme" (I should've known it was cheesy...after all, it was written by the cheesemeister of music, Jim Steinman [of Meat Loaf fame]). Jimmy Hart does a decent job on "Eat Your Heart Out, Rick Springfield" (keep in mind this was released when Springfield was mega-famous, not only for his music, but also for his role as Dr. Noah Drake on "General Hospital"). Hillbilly Jim does a decent country song on "Don't Go Messin' With A Country Boy". Nikolai Volkoff does a good job of singing "Cara Mia", but Volkoff, in character, becomes disgusted with the song and sings the Russian National Anthem, much to the chagrin of Vince McMahon and Mean Gene Okerlund. But I saved the best for last...if you ever "marked out" back in the 1980s when "Real American" played and you want to relive those days, then get this CD because that song is included here as well. Cyndi Lauper gusted on this CD on a few songs, albeit under a pseudonym (Mona Flambe'). This brought back a lot of memories for me (I remember marking out for Hogan at the Greensboro Coliseum in July/August 1988), and it should bring back a lot of memories for you as well. If you weren't a fan back then, then get this CD anyway...it is good. It's true! It's true!
