Free Music Notes for And All That Could Have Been AlbumFree Music Review: Trent Reznor is God Hit: 5 StarsI'll keep this short and sweet: this CD is incredible, especially for those who saw NIN in concert on the Fragility tour. The raw energy that always comes through on the studio recordings doesn't hold a candle to that of the live recording. For those of you who are already fans of Reznor's genius, I have only this to say to you: get the Deluxe Limited Edition with the bonus disc, .still. It contains some amazing "acoustic" (if you can call it that) versions of "Something I Can Never Have," "The Fragile," "The Becoming," and "The Day The World Went Away" as well as some brilliant new additions to the NIN repertoire: "Adrift and at Peace," "Gone, Still," "And All That Could Have Been," "The Persistence of Loss," and "Leaving Hope." (Some of these may have been previous releases, though I don't think so. I am a serious NIN fan, though my diligence faded during the dark years between Downward Spiral and The Fragile- Sorry, Trent. It'll never happen again) For those of you who have not yet discovered the brilliance of Mr. Reznor, this may not be the best place to start. While the CD is great, your best introduction to their music would probably not include the band performing with the accompanying voices of thousands of teenagers. I would reccomend starting with everyone else's favorite "The Downward Spiral," or my favorite, "The Fragile." Though it may not be a bad idea to pick the Limited Edition 2 disc set up now - in case it is, in fact, limited - and perhaps store it away somewhere. After you fall in love with the music, you'll be wanting it. While I did give this version (which is the first disc of the 2 disc set only) 5 stars, I must reiterate this suggestion: Get the Deluxe Limited Edition with the bonus disc instead! If this version is 5 stars, the Deluxe version is 8!
