Free Music Review: my ears are still bleeding
Hit: 5 Stars

ok, a lot of the remix cds i hear get so old i want to pour bleach on them and then drop them from the grand canyon, but this is an exception...this is one of those cds you have the need to bow down to...cuz its better than you and your grandma combined!...ive also labled this as my scariest album, because it often makes me jump during the joy of listening, and afterwords im like, "oh my god,,,somebodys in my house,,,somebodys gonna kill me...*tear*" because i always hear noises afterwords, and im always lookin around for stuff, such as serial killers and giant pigs, maybe im just goin skitzo.

every song on here gets a ten out of ten...it contains.:
5 remixes of closer(all of which are perfect to a pinpoint).......the original closer.....heresay remix.......memorbilia(new song),pretty good and strange like always......march of the f*c*heads(new song), no words/voice in it but thats ok and it sounds like a computer game to me, but hey im goin skitzo, why would you trust me? DAMN YOU NINE INCH NAILS!!...im so confused anymore...i dont know whether to bow down to nine inch nails because they are the best band of all time or smack them for making me go crazy, lookin for serial killers under my bed 'n stuff...anywayz...
peace away
amen.......

Free Music Review: Extraordinary
Hit: 5 Stars

As a regular greater LA Ca. radio station listener, it took me months to learn the name of the artist, let alone the song name... With a LOT of diligent research throughout all the NIN catalogue (via Amazon)as well as looking up the lyrics (just to be sure)I finally found this song, purchased this cd and have enjoyed the heck out of it ever since... Not being familiar with Trent Reznor per se or his penchant for re-interpretating his music, I was flabergasted with what I heard, but listen I did and found that the tracks represent an interesting variety of his music remixes... for me they're the foreplay to the lurid lyrics and seductive rythems of the final, ultimate "Closer" track- inf**kingcredible! Maybe not for everyone but surely this compilation is a 'must' for the open-minded. Not at all "dull", "boring" or a "rip-off" or about "barnyard animals having sex" (what WERE they listening to?) as noted by other reviewers, I have learned about and added someone new to my music library, long may he rock!

Free Music Review: What a bargain! Buy it now!
Hit: 5 Stars

It's cheap, it's musically exciting, and it can be yours! As a casual NIN fan, I really appreciate this single. Although I have since purchased "Further Down the Spiral" and "Things Falling Apart" (2 NIN remix albums), nothing compared me for the staggering musical genius in this single. I read that Trent Reznor usually composes about 20 different versions of a song before he decides to put one on an album. This single clearly displays the creepy, unsettling differences between versions of "Closer." The different versions are: beautiful, daring, strange, unsettling. No wonder David Lynch recruited Trent for some songs on "Lost Highway." As well as the numerous versions of "Closer", there are a couple other remixes of "Downward Spiral" songs. And there is a Soft Cell cover too! That is so cool. There is a lot of bang for your buck on this album too. So what are you reading my review for? Buy it already!

Free Music Review: A great single for the fans
Hit: 5 Stars

Although this doesn't leave much for the non-fans of "Closer", I think that this single is brilliant. Full of many "Closer" remixes, they are all great and worthy of repeat listens. My favorite of these is the "precursor" remix. It's a nice way to start things and is a great way to hear a more dark beginning of the album.

I rarely would consider giving five stars to a single, but this is one of the few exceptions (another one is "1979" by the Smashing Pumpkins, in any form). Each of these remixes are worthy of someone who likes something like this. I can see why this was used for 'Seven'. Then there's a great Marc Bell cover which shows a great side of Trent, always new-wave influenced.

It's a wonder why "March of the F**kheads" wasn't included on the MOTP single, but that is also worth buying. Pretty much, if you like the Downward Spiral, I suggest you pick up all the things done in that era because they are all worth picking up.
