Free Music Review: Mixture of the Closer singles
Hit: 5 Stars

I absolutely love NIN. And for any of the fans of NIN, i suggest you buy this. It is a little like The Perfect Drug combo and the WITT combo featured on an album titled Damaged, which may soon become out of print because only 1,000 were made, but you get a certificate, T-shirt, and cup coaster, so all the combo singles are great. This has it all twisted up. Closer is the very first track on part one, and is track 9 on this. March of the F**keads is somewhere close to what it really needed at. If you are a NIN fan shopping, I hope you enjoy this album. It has the greatest remixes of Closer including Deviation and further away. I consider it the halo 9 mixed to just one.

"Closer To God" is the best one. It's like a techno-metal version of "Closer" with heavy bass. At the end it has more of Trent screaming.

You'd also like "Memorablia," because it has NO screaming, but still enjoyable.

Free Music Review: A must have for even casual NIN fans
Hit: 5 Stars

Possibly the best CD single to carry the banner Nine Inch Nails, this disc contains five remixes of the song "Closer" plus the original. All five remixes are diverse and are some of the best remixes of any song I've ever heard (fans of the music from the film Seven will be happy to know that the opening credits remix of "Closer" can be found here considering it wasn't featured on the soundtrack). Also featured here are remixes of "Heresy" and a colorful remix of "March of the Pigs" with an even more colorful title. A cover of Soft Cell's "Memorabilia" is here as well, and for the price this CD single is a great deal. All in all, even if your a casual fan of Nine Inch Nails, this is a must have disc, and it serves as an excellent companion piece to "The Downward Spiral" and that album's remix disc "Further Down the Spiral".

Free Music Review: Great single/remixes ep
Hit: 5 Stars

I myself being a true NIN fan, and not caring about JUST Closer, it being a great song but like many other bands that suffer from the same conflict, it is the "poser song" for them, sadly. But this cd is just great...superb in every way. Of course it mainly consists of different remixes of Closer, but every song sounds completely different from the last. Other highlights include a remix of the always cheery anti-religion theme "Heresy", a cover of "Memorabillia" and a fantastic instrumental titled "March of the F*ckheads". My favorite version of Closer, though, would have to be the Precursor version, yes, the version that appeared in the classic movie "Se7en". Bottom line: this single/ep is just awesome, I highly recommend to anybody new to NIN or are die-hards, as this cd is slowly becoming a rare collectible so hurry up and get it NOW.

Free Music Review: If you dig NIN, this is a must-have!
Hit: 5 Stars

When you ask about the remix EP for The Downward Spiral, the answer is usually Further Down the Spiral -- which is excellent. But don't forget about the Closer to God EP! While most of it focuses around variations of one song (Closer), those variations are VERY diverse and interesting. Throw in 2 decent remixes of other songs plus an outstanding cover track and this almost feels like a stand-alone release. If you love The Downward Spiral, you must get Further Down the Spiral. If you love that and want more, get this EP, too.

The nice thing about this particular release of Closer to God is that all the tracks are on one disc, not broken up between two discs as other versions are (same songs).

Free Music Review: Trent, as always gives you more for your money
Hit: 5 Stars

Here we have the single for 'Closer' from The Downward Spiral (a modern classic in its own right). This goes well beyond what most people do for singles these days. Each remix is great (and oddly, they're all longer than the original), focusing on different aspects of the song. Also included is a bizarre remix of March of the Pigs which uses static to recreate the percussion and a layer of ambient noise, a cover of Marc Almond's Memorabilia that reinvents the song into a thrashing industrial powerhouse, and a remix of Heresy which is no better or worse than the original. Nearly sixty minutes of music, and it's a single. Get it, it's well worth the cash.
