Free Music Notes for Closer to God

Free Music Review: Ya gotta love the song, or else you'll hate this CD
Hit: 5 Stars

I loved this CD, it has several different versions of "closer", often long ones. I love the different mixes and I rarely get bored by the variety of styles. There are a few other songs included. Sometimes the style of the other songs just does not match what mood the album is putting me in, and I get jarred out of my trance enough to go over and flip to the next song.

I love this CD for trancing and dancing, and sometimes for yoga. (I know, weird. I am.) Very Goth tones make for cool slow moving dancing.

I reccommend this one, although some of his other one song/many versions don't always hold up.

One of the better single/EP releases from NIN (which are, to be honest, usually only a matter of concern for NIN fans looking to "collect them all"), Closer to God has some excellent remixes of Closer as well as the original song. I particularly recommend Closer (Precusor) (which was used in the opening credits to the movie Se7en) as well as the title track Closer to God, which isn't so much a remix as a re-imagining, and in that respect worth considering as a song it its own right.

Really a CD worth owning if you're a fan of NIN or just the song.

This is probably one the best remix albums from NIN. You get six versions of closer, one of the better known NIN songs and three other tracks being: "heresy", "memrobilia", and "march of the f**kheads"(a personal favorite). The disc is a good length and the all the remixes are well thought out and not just thrown together. With three other tracks besides closer you don't get sick of hearing different versions of the same song. I definetly recommend this to any true NIN fan or anyone who really likes the song.

Free Music Review: The Perfect Drug For A Nine Inch Nails Junkie
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one of the greatest of the Nine Inch Nails singles, and contains some of the greatest "Closer" remixes. The song from the opening credits of "Se7en", for instance, is one the tracks featured on this album. I feel that this album is part of what I call "The Downward Spiral Trilogy", after "The Downward Spiral", but before "Further Down The Spiral". The best effect comes when all three are listened to in order. All in all, if you like Nine Inch Nails, you'll like this album.

There are 6 different versions of Closer including the album version, but all are entirely different and not overly repetitive like some remixes can get. There is also a version of Heresy, an awesome instrumental created from March of the Pigs and Trent doing the haunting Memorabilia, which alone makes this worth owning. If you have never purchased any of the NIN's remix albums, this is the one to get. I have all of them and I think this is the best one.
