Free Music Notes for FixedFree Music Review: Buy Broken And Fixed NOW Hit: 5 Stars
I need to counter the mediocre and bad reviews of Fixed. This CD is absolutely worth getting. Broken is about as pure Trent Reznor as you can get and Fixed is a step beyond that. If you like Broken and Fixed, you like the real NIN.Gave Up is fantastic, perfectly disjointed yet still driving and aggressive. Then there's Wish. It alone is worth the price of the CD. The original was great, this remix is life-altering. It's violent, shrill, jarring, it takes everything that makes NIN what it is and cranks it up to the highest level. After Wish, the songs get more quirky and less "song-like". This isn't a bad thing, this is Trent Reznor. If you like things even more off-the-wall, the last few tracks might just be your favorites. Regardless, I consider Fixed and Broken to be the most NIN of all the NIN CD's. If you really want to get inside Trent's head and see just what the world looks like to him, buy these, jack up the treble, jack up the volume, then listen 'til your ears bleed.
Free Music Review: A Stray From The Norm Hit: 5 Stars
This particular Nine Inch Nails Single strays from the normal format of club/dance sort of style and ventures into a totally new demension of Nine Inch Nails. This, I am talking about, is a mixture of Dark Ambient/Noise, Gabber, Industrial Dance Music (IDM) and Industrial. For the regular listeners of Nine Inch Nails this will be an eye opener and shocker. And to the here and there listener this will not be a good single for them. I say this only 'cause in some of tracks it will go from a simple Dark Ambient/Noise track and roll right into IDM. This is not a bad thing for those that listen to this sort of abstract type of tracks. But beware those that are new to Nine Inch Nails. Even avet listeners find this one hard to swallow. So if you are going to venture into this single, I would recemmend going into it with an open mind and open ears.
Free Music Review: Pleasantly surprised Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a big fan of Nine Inch Nails, yet I was hesitant at buying this EP. I'm not usually into 10-minute-long remixes, now matter how good the original song - they just drag on too long and are too repetitive. Despite this knowledge, I decided to buy this EP in order to bring my self a little closer to completing my NIN catalogue. However, upon first listen I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the tracks are somewhat long and drawn out (a mere 6 songs adds up to 40 minutes in total!) but I found myself enjoying them because they have that distinctive feel of darkness, gloom, depression and hatred that Trent Reznor channels through his music in his own special way, even if there are minimal vocals at times. It has style, and I feel that any true Nine Inch Nails fan should appreciate it or at least give it a go. I did...and I'm sure glad I did.
Free Music Review: best remixes ever made! Hit: 5 Stars
i don't care what others say. It's got techno and anger builded with each other. Description sounds like Broken and Pretty Hate Machine match. Actually sort of.The Gave Up remix is pretty cool, though you probably won't like it the first time you hear it. And if you like NIN, you like this. Then the two Wish remixes. First one is pretty cool. The second one (Fist F**k) is very loud, keeping the bass in Wish there. It also contains two of Happiness In Slavery. None of them sound a thing like the original. But there cool anyways. Then it has the Last remix (Throw This Away) which is also cool. Personally, my favorite of the remixes. Even though only two tracks done by NIN. Other artists: Coil, Jim Thirwell, more.
Free Music Review: Not for the weak at heart Hit: 5 Stars
This CD (Fixed) is not for the average, Top 40 music listener. A person like that would never get what's going on with this CD. In my opinion, I think this is one of the greatest compositions I've heard out of any band in the last 15 or so years (industrially speaking). The layers of sounds being crushed out are very intense...and though many would say that this CD is repetitive like a BROKEN record...sorry, this is the FIXED version! To be quite honest, if you're going to buy this CD, make sure you also have the Broken EP also. The two go "hand in hand". If you are just a casual fan of NIN...DON'T BUY THIS!!!! You will not get it!!!Big fan of NIN???? Get this, you'll love it!!!
