Free Music Review: Best since The Fragile
Hit: 5 Stars

You may think I'm being overzealous giving this free album such a high praise, but it just goes to show how much better Trent Reznor is without a major record company.

Now all he has to do is grow is hair and drop a few pounds again, hahahah.

This album may not be as elaborate and "designed" as With Teeth and Year Zero, but I personally thought those albums were lame rehashes of the first three Nine Inch Nails records.

But this album sounds way more original, and hey, theres even some great songs that would not be out of place on The Downward Spiral and Fragile - Lights in the Sky, Head Down - straight off The Downward Spiral? even Discipline and Echophlex are good - and yes its a short record, 10 tracks but its free!! and its only a year after the last Nine Inch Nails album, so hopefully it won't be long before theres another one.

And don't forget about Ghosts, the double disc.

Heres some advice if you think its to short, make a playlist with tracks off he Ghost CD, there you go, problem solved.

Free Music Review: Got Trent?
Hit: 5 Stars

If you haven't picked up this album yet, then shame on you. Not only has Trent delivered free music to his millions of minions, but he offers this limited-print version to the die-hard fans who simply can't live without a manufactured copy of his terrific work(i.e. myself).
As with all his music, his beautiful melodies melt together with angst-filled rhythms perfectly. He has delivered yet another timeless ballad, 'Lights in the Sky', as well as the lyrical masterpiece, 'Echoplex.' Along with these, though, there is the industrial genius we all know and love, expressing his frustrations through songs like 'Letting You' and 'Demon Seed.'
I, personally, love the album and thank Trent for producing an official hard-copy release. I was also extremely excited to see the reunion of Trent and Robyn. Even if you have a 5mbps connection, it's worth the free download. However, I would recommend buying the hard-copy to support the amazing work he has produced.

Free Music Review: "And I've got a Big Gun"
Hit: 5 Stars

The Slip is another weapon Trent is using to revolutionize the way music is marketed and distributed. With the state of the world, and all systems failing...it's hard to not have an appreciation for the effort and personal finance Trent has taken on trying to drive this in a new direction.

The music on this record is short, and fact paced. Like it's predecessor 'Year Zero', the music itself is very noisy. Crunch guitars and march-like solid drums carry like a socially conscious drive-by of words through Central Park. And as soon as it starts, its over.

Unlike early works, there seems to be a lack of progression in the songs. This does not make them bad though. In this stage of Reznor's career, you can bet this is exactly what he was going for! And once you watch the Rehearsal's DVD that is included, you will have an entirely new appreciation for the songs on this album. The BONUS DVD and Sticker Booklet are a nice touch as well.

Free Music Review: A Great Work of Musical Excellence
Hit: 5 Stars

If you have listened to Nine Inch Nails in the past, well, you should listen now more. Trent has assaulted his own standards of music with an even fresher sound and an more aggressive talent. Whether its the blood pumping track 1,000,000 or the politically charged Letting you, or the thumping beat of Discipline - you'll be happy you purchased the album.

All of the talent on this album are in his concerts, and after having pit tickets to his August 2008 Dallas show I can say without a doubt they are skilled. Live, on album, or in video on this disc - you will not be disappointed.

If you love electronic music, hard rock, or Nine Inch Nails - you should get this album in THIS edition. If you love to hear something great, and new, and something cutting edge - get THIS edition.

The video disc makes it a great deal alone!

Free Music Review: Good news all around!
Hit: 5 Stars

Good news, part 1: I agree that this is Reznor's tightest set of rock tunes in ages. Part 2: Check out the rehearsal footage on the bonus DVD. The band is air-tight, tough and exciting as ever. This bodes well for the upcoming tour. Part 3: The most important thing here is what Trent has been accomplishing since he gave his record company the bird. Without the pressures of corporate B.S., he has been more successful and creative than ever. No major label would have touched an uncommercial experiment like "Ghosts I-IV", and this freedom has re-energized him into rocking like a M.F. on this terrific new release. And as the last laugh, these releases are raking in millions! This bodes well not just for NIN, but for all truly talented artists who are tired of working for stuffed suits and seeing fans get ripped off. Like I said, good news all around!
