Pretentious youth are very imaginitive, creative, and artistic. He thinks he has something to contribute to the music world because he DOES in fact have a tremendous ability to render his free flowing thought in music, meticulously carving at his sounds to best replicate his feelings. 1. The Day the World Went Away is awesome....great, heavvvvy guitar groan. Black Sabbathian. 2. Star*uckers Inc. is a terrific slam against Little Mary Manson. 3. The Day the World Went Away (Quiet) begins with a satanic "na-na" Beatles chorus of Trent, back-up vocals by Trent...I think I hear the Devil groaning in the background...Piano comes in, copies the "na-na" and turning it into a Pink Floydian think...Guitar plucks...builds...all falls away, leaving a piano so sad and lonely and pensive...then it begins to sound like "hurt"... bass...the end...Free Music Review: A Great Sign For The New Album

TDTWWA is a great song though low on lyrics. Starf***ers rocks. The sound is more matured and has a refined sense compared even to the downward spiral. It's a good buy. I was afraid Trent Reznor had lost his magic after being silent for so long, but it certainly appears that he's still got it. THe rthyms are great with strong vocals. NIN is one of the greats ranking with Nirvana, the Doors, Jimmi Hendrix, Queen, and the Beatles. If you don't have cds by these artists (including NIN) you should.Free Music Review: Prepare yourself for one of The best albums of all time

This NIN single, "The Day the World Went Away" is just a tease of what is to come whenever the double NIN cd is finally released. Trent is one of the most complicated geniuses and always leaves his fans in shock when they finally hear his albums for the first time. By shock I mean complete happinness. StarF****ers is one of the most innovative songs i've ever heard. The day the world went away has many different layers to it and kicks totall a$$. This single is a must have!!!! By the way, Trent, if u are reading this, you have yet to dissapoint me.Free Music Review: Hmm... something generic: WOW!

If this single is any sign of what will come front Trent & co., then the new album might be the best one yet! very empty, almost sparse, not like his previous synth-laden works. the first track is just his voice (vague most of the time, just one verse), electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and a droney synth note. the last track which is a remix is IMO as good if not better than the original. very haunting piano. the one sandwiched in between, starfuckers inc., sounds a lot like KMFDM. good, but not as good as the aforementioned works.
