Free Music Review: The bread of the best of '07 sandwich

A year ago, I had thought that Trent Reznor was past his prime. Then in April, he released his masterpiece Year Zero. Gone were the days of self loathing and wallowing, and a new era emerged for Mr. Reznor. One of a new found social conscience and the desire to say something about the current state of not just the US but the world. What came out was the best nin album in history, more mature, more interesting lyrically, more responsible.
So now we get the standard remix album, as always, which i never bother to buy. But this time I had to. The source material was so good that no one could screw it up. With the exception of 1 or 2 tracks near the end, this is top notch. with the highlight being the funky accoustic version of "the Great Destroyer" this never fails to surprise me. The third best album of 07! The first being the original Year Zero, the meat being Saul Williams' Niggy Tardust, and add R3M1X3D you've got a tastey trent reznor produced musical sandwich. Enjoy!
Free Music Review: CD is AWESOME, DVD-Rom Freezes My Computers

I picked up "Y34RZ3R0R3MIX3D" today and had to listen to the whole thing twice in a row. Trent picked out some phenomenal remixes to throw on here. Saul Williams is a brilliant artist, and as such, his two remixes are standouts...but every track on here is good for its own reasons. NIN fans will all have at least one or two tracks on here they like. Personally, i think they are all stellar! The ONLY thing keeping me from giving this package five stars is the fact that all three of my computers freeze up when i try to put the DVD-ROM in them. All are running WAY above what is needed according to the spces on the READ-ME file. Anytime I try to migrate the files from the disc to a harddrive, the computer just freezes up until i eject the disc. Anyone else having this trouble? I'm curious if i just have a faulty DVD-ROM, or if it's a common problem from a certain pressing-batch.Free Music Review: Dont be scared of this remix

I was afraid to buy this remix album, as I am with most any remix album. Usually it seems at though things are just thrown together, and the original song is just playing in the background behind another mix of sounds...and often sounds very "trashy" and cheap...not so with this album. Its a brilliant remix, and I am having a hard time not saying that its better than the original. I wont just yet, but it brings a new sound to all of the songs that you love from Year Zero, and perhaps a sound that will make you like songs that you didnt like the first go round. Its done brillantly, this remix doesnt dissapoint....of course none of the NIN remix albums has. Pick this one up, and discover Year Zero all over again.Free Music Review: That'll Do, Pig... Trent, aka NIN, moves me body and soul with his music, always has, because just as with my kids, I love every album, just differently because they are all inherently different though part of the same family. And they are DELICIOUS!! Then to hear takes of the songs through others' ears and souls, WOW, some really cool stuff, though, they are always starting with really good stuff to begin with, right?! :-) Thanks, Trent, for another best in the continuing Halo saga... I really enjoyed this remix CD of Year Zero. The remix of "The Great Destroyer" is easily my favorite track, "Capital G" would be my next. The other tracks are very enjoyable to listen to except for "Me, I'm Not." This was really disappointing to me because it was my favorite track on the original release of Year Zero. Regardless I still think you should pick this up.
