Free Music Review: Live,raw,true
Hit: 5 Stars

"From the muddy banks of whishkah" is showing true nirvana.unpolished and raw,not hidden under studio production and anything else.the intro with screaming cobain sounds amusing although it signals the madness and untamed power that nirvana was famous for in live gigs.
"School","Drain you","Smells like teen spirit","Heart shaped box" and many other songs from here became true classics.it is a shame that "Come as you are" didn't appeared here but you can't have everything.you can call it greatest hits - "From the muddy banks..." shows all era's in band's history.from late 80'ties loud shows to big hall tournees in nirvana's last days (around 1994)...this is Nirvana's true face.simply an amazing live album

Free Music Review: On fire!
Hit: 5 Stars

Nirvana's real stage presence is exceptionally shown here on this 54 minute furnace blast. When they were on, they were ON. No wonder Krist Novoselic would say that Nirvana would "slay" onstage, rather than just "play". Kurt Cobain's guitar squeals and roars, Krist's bass chugs along like a locomotive, and Dave Grohl's drumming is simply untouchable: the greatest rock drummer of his generation. These selections from different gigs showcase Nirvana at their live peak: every song is played as if the band would drop dead after they stop: they make it all last, they give it their all. The band's live greatness is especially clear when you constrast this beast with their sombre, acoustic "Unplugged in New York": long live Nirvana!!

Free Music Review: Well I'll be 5 Stars

I just bought this cd today, and i was surprised, and dumbfounded. Usually cds that hold the recordings of concerts is a wrong move since the sound is not of the best quality, but here it was totally clear! Kurt's voice was amazing, and as well as the band, they played their instruments perfectly. I don't see why people are not so into this album, because for me its one of the best. If you're really a Nirvana fan, you don't have to appreciate everything that the band releases, you can hate some of them and still be a fan. But, how can you hate their releases when all of them are perfectly recorded and sound good? You're not a poser or a posseur as they call it to sound fancy, you're just really really INTO the band, or as I say a damned fanatic...

Free Music Review: The Other Side Of Nirvana
Hit: 5 Stars

The first album that was posthumously released by the surviving members of Nirvana was the MTV Unplugged album. That album was a quiet and beautiful eulogy to Kurt Cobain. After that album, Chris Novoselic and Dave Grohl released this live set, From The Muddy Banks of the Wishkah, which shows the live power that the band was famous for. There aren't any quiet moments include here, just the full blast of the band's manic live shows. Songs like "Lithium", Aneurysm", "Drain You" and "Breed" bristle with earth moving intensity and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is a call to arms for Generation X. This album serves as a testament that Nirvana was a truly great live band and one that is still missed.

Free Music Review: Pure Nirvana!
Hit: 5 Stars

Out of all the CDs that I own, this is probably my most listened to. The songs on this album just gel together and flow together licely even though they aren't taken from the same gig. Best songs are: "School", "Drain You", "Aneurysm", "Scentless Apprentice", "Milk It", "Blew" and a nice frenzied version of "tourette's". The album could have included some more stage talk from the band and could have left out the versions of "Breed" and "Spank Thru" that appear on here (which aren't really THAT good) but the album althogether is a nice look back to the career of Nirvana. Also take a look at their live video "Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!"
