Free Music Review: Incesticide and your local trading community are your best bets for non-album songs
Hit: 4 Stars

Incesticide truly is one of Nirvana's best releases. Sure, it's a "comp," but the best thing about it is that it gives Nirvana fans the weirder side of Nirvana alongside the more accessible Nirvana. Thankfully, you don't get the selfish temper-tantrum phase Kurt went through during the In Utero era up until his death. Incesticide captures Nirvana right after they broke big; when Kurt still had a sense of humor. My faves are "Aneurysm" and "AeroZepplin" with all of their crazy guitar work.

I definitely suggest this b-sides/demos album over the slop that is With the Lights Out. If anyone out there wants more amazing studio outtakes and demos not offered on Incesticide (like "If You Must" and "Blandest"), for the love of God, please just download them or get them from a pal in your local trading community; you'll get better sound quality than the sh*tty sources used for on WTLO. I find it shocking that most of the tapes bootleggers have been circulating for the past 15 years are better than what Krist and Dave scrounged up for WTLO. It's obvious they just want to get more Nirvana material out to make more money; they don't even care that most of their sources are inferior to what we've had for the past decade and a half.

Free Music Review: Best nirvana album hands down.
Hit: 5 Stars

This album really shows off kurts writing talent. Its a great mix of songs, going from the poppy sound of been a son to the head banging aneurysm. This really shows us the pre nevermind sound of nirvana.(before kurt really lost it because of the media)Its seems to have a little nevermind and bleach mixed in for good measure.

Free Music Review: the B.side and outtakes material
Hit: 4 Stars

after the success of "nevermind" i suppose the record company thought if kurdt has any left over demo's and radio sessions
lts compile them into a new album of "rare B.sides BBC sessions orignal demo recordings outtakes stuff never heard before"
and see if the scam works and it sells as much as nevermind then we'll be on the jackpot yet it didn't because it didn't have the commerical feel at "nevermind" had and the legion of "fans" weren't happy with a rawier nirvana and some say that the production is weak well duh it's demo's and radio sessions there not gonna be all shined up like an ass now are they?

i must say that kurdt was a fantastic songwriter and his simple words stuck and chord with me and on this album you get all the edge of the knife stuff missing for "nevermind" the raw the un-adulted
from the opening song "dive" you get a classic chorus
"silver" was made in a limited single with a great video with francis bean cobain "dancing"
been a son is a good song
and the cover of "molly's lips" is raunchy and classic
the new version of "polly" is disposable
the rest is not to be mentioned apart from
"aneurysm" a fantastic song that showcased cobain's talents

Free Music Review: Better than Nevermind
Hit: 5 Stars

I thought Incesticide showed a much more raw side of Nirvana that I prefer. The Molly's Lips cover and Anerurysm are awesome. It is also cool because it contains some of their late 80s stuff as well as some more recent stuff w/ Grohl @ the drums.

Good stuff...well worth it.

Free Music Review: Only Nirvana Fans Need Apply
Hit: 3 Stars

Somewhat hastily thrown together following the mega-success of "Nevermind", "Incesticide" features a collection of off-beat Nirvana songs from their pre-fame era. "Dive", "Sliver" and "Stain" are the highlights, and Nirvana's cover of "Molly's Lips" is worth a listen. Not a particularly great album per se, but a must-own collection for the true Nirvana fan.
