Free Music Notes for Incesticide

Free Music Review: Very good
Hit: 5 Stars

Ok. I know its not Nirvanas best, but its awsome. Its not better than Nevermind or In Utero, but I think its better than Bleach. Cmon people, lets face it, Bleach wasnt crap, infact it was a pretty good first effort, but nothing compared to the other two because it was almost a total different sound except for About A Girl. Most people probally heard Bleach after Nevermind was released. Incesticide is alot closer to the others except for the fact that it seems alot more upbeat. Some of the songs are... weird, but I still like them and the covers are great. Silver, Been A Son, and Aneurysm are all gret Cobain originals. This defintally fits right up there with Nevermind and Utero. My favorite Nirvana albums listed goes like this: In Utero, Nevermind, Incesticide, MTV Unplugged, Bleach. If you like Nirvana do yourself a favor and get this. Espically if you like more upbeat music.

Free Music Review: The pain identified by millions
Hit: 5 Stars

Brilliant collage of Nirvana works and a must have album for any Nirvana fan. Whenever I hear Incesticide I think back to when i was 15 - 16 years old and would mosh around my basement in flannels with long hair and converse sneaks. We all were influenced so much by his music and style in the short time he was in the spotlight. That in itself is a special acomplishment. But that is now somewhat overshadowed by an eerie feeling every time I hear a Nirvana song, knowing that he (kurt)is dead and the circumstances of his death. He died a year younger than I am now at 27. What a bad ending to what couldve been a better story. He was one of the best singer/song writers of our time. Too bad it was such a short run. At any rate buy the album and peek into the mind of one of the great artistic geniouses of our time.

Free Music Review: This is truly great!
Hit: 5 Stars

I mean it when I say this, Incesticide has no bad tracks. From Start to finish, it is a solid album. I thought I wouldnt like the version of 'Polly', cause the origanal kicks butt on Nevermind, but this version is great as well. The only thing I dont like about this record is that its not hard or as heavy as any of the other Nirvana records. But other then that this is great, my favorite song on Incesticide is 'Sliver' its really cool and flows well. 'Aero-Zeppelin' is a fusion of Sweet Emotion by Aerosmiths rythm and Led Zeppelins Rock and Roll, I think! This is not a place for new fans to start but if your gonna get into Nirvana youmust own this I mean its way to good to pass up! This is just as good as Bleach and In Utero, not quite as good as Nevermind though, but it comes very, very close.

Free Music Review: The best besides "Nevermind"
Hit: 5 Stars

Most critics and fans alike consider "In Utero" to be the next best representation of Nirvana next to "Nevermind", but I must say that while "In Utero" is a very good album, this just has more depth to it. There are only a few tracks on "Incesticide" that aren't worth your time, but the majority of this album is an essential listen in order to understand the influence that Nirvana has cast upon the majority of current Rock and punk bands. It wasn't meant to be released as a proper album, however I find it to be more meaningful than "In Utero" and the three songs that seem a bit dull are nowere near making this album unimportant. Seeing as there are 15 tracks on this one, it's sure to bring a great feeling of knowing what the spirit of Nirvana was really about.

Free Music Review: Varied, yet never loses its beautifully gritty sound
Hit: 5 Stars

Whichever user commented that "Incesticide", as opposed to "Bleach", is a better showcase of Nirvana's earlier days is wrong; although I don't care for "Bleach" as much as I do "Incesticide", "Incesticide" is lacking in its rawness that defined Nirvana's sound from the 1987-'90 era. That's not to say it's polished, but it definitely had more production value put into it.

One of the aspects I love best about "Incesticide" is its varied stylings. Most bands lose their identity when they try to vary their stylings, but Nirvana is one of the exceptions. They always seemed the type of band that could comfortably transition without losing their beautifully gritty sound.

My favorite tracks: "Mexican Seafood", "Hairspray Queen", "Beeswax", "Stain", and "Downer".
