Free Music Notes for Nine HeavensFree Music Review: Refreshing! Hit: 4 StarsI got hooked on Azam Ali the same way I go hooked on Loreena McKennit - I heard the sound of her voice and immediately had to track down who it was. This of course led me to find her numerous projects. Azam has an unmistakeable voice and Niyaz is a fantastic mixture of her voice with the abilities of Loga Ramin Torkian. They are well complimented by the quality of production brought to the mix by Carmen Rizzo (Seal).
Turkish, Persian, and Indian influences abound on this album. Mix it up with the subtle elements of trance and you have a one of a kind sound called Niyaz.
Free Music Review: Solid Follow Up To Their Debut Album Hit: 5 StarsAs others have said this one is a bit deeper and richer and less electronic techno beat (though I greatly enjoyed the first album)
I especially liked the acoustic versions of the songs.
Free Music Review: pleasant listening! Hit: 5 StarsThese folks do such a wonderful job combining music from their country of origin and putting it to words from their favorite mentors. Such a pleasure to hear them.--Madeleine
Free Music Review: musical hypnotism Hit: 4 StarsHypnotic. Mesmerizing. Sensual. The list of superlatives goes on. I bought this cd based on a single listen of "Beni Beni" on a local radio station and did I ever get my moneys worth. For those of you who found Stings song "Desert Rose" captivating welcome to a hidden mine.
Free Music Review: So worth it! Hit: 5 StarsI came across their name by happy accident. I viewed some of their music on Youtube and decided to get their latest release. I sat and listened to both cds. I was unhappy that it seemed over so soon. I say ditto to all 14 previous reviews. Niyaz, you have a new fan.
