Free Music Notes for Northern Exposure: Music From The Television Series (1990-95 Television Series)

Free Music Review: Caribbean Blue
Hit: 3 Stars

If you remember the episode where Holling
has to bury Jesse, and Chris is reading the
Paddle to the Sea excerpts, then you probably
remember that incredible Enya music at the end
of the 3rd season episode named THE FINAL FRONTIER.

The Enya track is from Sheperd Moons, Caribbean
Blue.

Free Music Review: A Classic Soundtrack
Hit: 5 Stars

One reason why 'Northern Exposure' always stood out was the music featured in the show.It had the same unexpected quality as the show-this album for one features unusual Native American songs and even French hip-hop.As much as I don't generally go for soundtracks this one is as wonderful as the show. Most of it could actually be described as singalong and will be a GAS at partiesm, seeing how upbeat it all is.Highly recommended.

Free Music Review: Bring back the other CD too!
Hit: 5 Stars

There are (were) two CD's made from this wonderful show. This was the first. For those who miss Enya's Ebudae , it is on the second CD. These were 'out of print' for quite a while, so hopefully the second CD will make a comeback too! Both of them are delightful!! If you truly love the show, you can remember when most of the tracks appeared (like the "When I grow to old to dream" (when Maggie gives Chris back his voice ). I do agree with Lisa Wallis, though, and would love to hear more! The music was such an integral part of the show (it was LOUSY at the beginning, but became another cast member somewhere along the way)!

Free Music Review: A little bit of everything
Hit: 5 Stars

Nice compilation of a variety of music, from classical to jazz to blues to French to rock to Indian... perfect for parties. Nothing too "out there" and nothing too tame, either.

Free Music Review: Disappointing
Hit: 2 Stars

I loved the show and its quirky, moving music and purchased this because of the very high customer reviews. I was disappointed in the cd. I consider the pieces a mix of 60's nostalgia songs little different than what one would hear on a "smooth rock" chain radio station. Granted, the cd has two important, distinguished classics (Etta James "At Last" and Nat King Cole's "When I Grow Too Old to Dream"), but you'd be better off spending twice the money and buying the two original cd's to get the songs instead of purchasing this cd, unless, of course, you're a fan of the other selections. Be sure to check the song list and make sure they are all songs you love.

I did learn something valuable from this purchase, however: don't rely too greatly on customer reviews.
