Free Music Review: Surprisingly Good
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD shows us that there are still possibilities with good Nows coming out. Less rap, and more recent stuff helps shape this CD into an enjoyable piece.

The CD starts out with "Vertigo" which seems like an okay choice. This song would've blended in better with the other rock songs on this CD. "What You Waiting For" is definetely an awesome choice to put on this CD. Although a little old, it gives the CD spice, life, and everything nice. Lindsay Lohan makes a first appearance on a Now with "Rumors" a bland and unenjoyable experience.

Amazingly, there are only two rap songs on this album. "Balla Baby" by Chingy, and "Drop it Like it's Hot" with Snoop. Now 17 bombarded us with amazingly dumb, pointless, and just stupid rap songs. "Balla Baby" and "Drop it Like it's Hot" are great choices, cuz it shows the good side of rap, the side you can actually listen to without your ears bleeding.

Destiny's Childs' "Soldier" and Ashanti's "Only U" compete with each other, neck to neck and Ashanti wins. "Soldier" becomes more pop than the classic R&B Destiny's Child used to sing, while "Only U" shows that Ashanti is not a fake, and can sing with emotion, and actually HAS talent. "Used to Love You" by John Legend is by far one of the best songs on the album. A little more "poppy" than Ordinary People, but still an instant classic.

The most annoying song "Over and Over" is put on this album and shows that country and rap go together like water and oil. Just horrendous... gosh, just talking about it is making me throw up mentally. Thank the heavens a good song is placed next to it. "Obsession" by Frankie J is one of the bests in 2005 so far. It's got a catchy tune, and hot video, which no doubt will make it zoom up the charts. "O" by Omarion is very similar to "Obsession" but just doesn't "get" me like "Obsession"

We're entering the rock zone of Now 18 and the section starts out with a soothing song, "Collide" by Howie Day and goes into Hoobastank's "Disappear" a very disappointing and boring song compared to The Reason. Chevelle's "Vitamin R" is also just plain pointless, just a spot-filler on the CD, the same with "Home," Three Days Grace.

Lenny Kravitz' "Lady" is actually mighty fine. Catchy tunes, and good guitar playing fit into this song perfectly. Good Charlotte's "I Just Wanna Live" is the fun song of the album, such as "1985", and "Stacy's Mom" from previous Nows. Frickin A's "Jessie's Girl" reminds me thoroughly of BBMak and LFO... remember them? Nevertheless, "Jessie's Girl" is a pretty good song.

Another first on this Now is Skye Sweetnam with "Tangled Up in Me" a more than pop song, sang with "cute" Avril Lavigne vocals. Catchy song, but gets annoying the third time you here it. Reminds me of Fefe Dobson... again, do you remember her?
Keith Urban's "You're My Better Half" is a good song itself, but I just don't get why they had to squeeze in yet another country song on a Now, just doesn't seem to fit. Gavin Degraw's "I Don't Wanna Be" or "Chariot" would've been a better choice to put as the last song.

This is by far the BEST now in such a long time... I hope the Nows will keep on to this pattern.

Free Music Review: Now 18 is the same has the 5 Stars

I'm so confused with these people writing bad reviews. It's just music that they play on the radio. Every song on here they've played on the radio and was a hit. If you don't like the music why waste your time writing a review on something that you already know that you don't like. Now or Totally Hit's series are based on a bunch of hits put together. If they weren't hits, they wouldn't be on here. If you think this cd sucks, than it's not your music style because this is just the same has the ones before this. Now 17 was full of rap and now this one is full of pop. If you like the previous Now's this is no different. What do you want on here then....Yes they should put hits by 50 Cent and Eminem or artists like that, but they've never have and won't probably because of the lyrics. Here's What I think of the cd.
1). U2-Vertigo (9/10) A good song.
2). Gwen Stephani-What you Waiting for (10/10) A catchy song, that may eventually get on your nerves
3). Lindsay Lohan-Rumors (8/10) A good first single.
4). Snoop Dogg-Drop it like it's hot (10/10) Another catchy song.
5). Destiny's Child-Soldier (10++++/10) A really good song. Best song by them in a while. The beat is awesome
6). Ashanti-Only U (9/10) A good single with a rock feel
7). Chingy-Balla Baby (7/10) A good song at first, but gets on your nerves after a while. Get's old soon.
8). John Legend-Used to Love You (9/10) A good beat and produced by Kayne West. Good first single.
9). Nelly-Over and Over (7/10) A song they played over and over again and gets on your nerves. They played this too much, but still a good song.
10). Frankie J-Obsession (9/10) A song they play a lot now, it's a good catchy song.
11). Omarion-O (9/10) A weird title, but good love song.
12). Howie Day-Collide (10/10) A really good song with a catchy chorus. First time I ever heard this.
13). Hoobastank-Disappear (7/10) A okay song, slow and not has good has The Reason.
14). Chevelle-Vitamin R (9/10) A good rock song. It's a great single.
15). Three Days Grace-Home (7/10) First time I heard this, and it's good, but could be better.
16). Lenny Kravitz-Lady (9/10) A song that they made into a commercial at first, but soon came to a video. A catchy beat.
17). Good Charlotte-I Just Wanna Live (10/10) A really catchy beat, and fun to listen to. I don't know why Predictable isn't on here. That's a little better.
18). Frickin' A-Jessies Girl (8/10) First time I heard this and it's okay. It might remind you of Stacy's Mom. Funny...
19). Skye Sweetnam-Tangled Up in Me (9/10) A good song, I hope her next single "Number One" will be on Now 19.
20). Keith Urban-You'll think of me (8/10) An okay song, but why one country song by the same artist. They should put some other country artists on here such has Sara Evans or Chely Wright. That would be nice.
It's a good cd overall, If your into this music. If you don't like this music, don't bother. That's why it's called a mix of songs, so you can choose if you like it or not.

Free Music Review: Now 18: Still Going, Still Effective
Hit: 5 Stars

What else is there left to review of the NOW! series, however it's still nice to have this series of CD's still around, and still going strong, just look at NOW's 14,15,16 & 17. On Now! 18, there are alot of strong tracks such as "Vertigo", "What You Waiting For?", "Drop It Like It's Hot", "Lady", and "You're My Better Half". But I think that the song with the most to gain from this Now! cd is "Collide" from Howie Day, I mean just look what Now! 6 did for "Drive" from Incubus, maybe "Collide" will become the gem of this CD. And that is what makes NOW! 18 good, finding a new song on an album with some older songs. Two of the main reasons(although I really don't need any reasons) I bought Now! 18, are for the songs "What You Waiting For?"(Gewn Stefani) and "Lady"(Lenny Kravitz, which is an awesome song). It's also nice to see a country song on a Now! cd for the third time in a row. "You're My Better Half" from Keith Urban, and actually this is Keith's third appearance on Now!, he is on Now! 12, 17, and now 18. I think this is a very good album and a very strong Now! considering we are at 18, and just think by the end of 2005, we will see the release of Now! 20!. And Now! 19 will probably be something special too. Grade: A-.

Now for the music:

1. U2 "Vertigo" B-(would prefer "All Because Of You") (31)
2. Gwen Stefani "What You Waiting For? A+++(excellent) (47)

4. Snoop Dogg "Drop It Like It's Hot" B+ (1)
5. Destiny's Child "Solider" C-(should be "Lose My Breath") (3)
6. Ashanti "Only U" B (13)
7. Chingy "Balla Baby" F-(can't stand Chingy) (20)
8. John Legend "Used To Love U" F(never heard the song)(97)
9. Nelly/Tim McGraw "Over And Over" C+(was played over and over) (3)
10. Frank J "Obsession" F(never heard)(I have no idea)
11. Omarion "O" F(stupid title for a song) (?)
12. Howie Day "Collide" A+(the hidden gem) (60 and climbing)
13. Hoobastank "Disappear" B-(they have disappeared) (dnc)
14. Chevelle "Vitamin R" B+ (69)
15. Three Days Grace "Home" D-(?)(90)

Now that's what I call music 18

I like to listen chart-topping hits. And I like to listen to a radio. Now 18 has 20 different singers and 20 different songs. Now 18 has great songs. I love them. It realist on march15, 2005. I bought this cd in wal-mart and it just cost $15.00. It labels sonny BMG music entertainment. In this cd have two groups universal music group and the EMI group. The style of this cd has pop and rock. Some few songs I don't like. Keith Urban called you're my better half it's kind of too much for me. I think this music have to be more happier. Some of the words I think need to be change and everything would be cool if you fix that song. The second song I don't like is what you waiting for? Made by Gwen Stephanie. This song is kind of rude. If you listen to this song you go in to feel sorry for that guy who they singing to. The music cool but the words need to be change. I looked at the Internet and I found a person named Michelle. Michelle was describing the songs what kind Michelle like what kind not. Michelle liked cool songs. I mean they are cool for me. I think fans wont disappointed. Because some of the songs are really nice that you want to listen over and over it again. It happened to me few times. I have now 15 CD it has more pop songs than now 18. If you buy this CD you would love it.
