A party to end all parties kinda movie. The soundtrack would stand very well at your next house party too I think. Everything from varied forms of hip-hop, techno, hard alternative and a very Bowie'ish final track (London Suede's "Trash"). The movie bedazzles a bit more than it's soundtrack but both are by far another good production from one of L.A.'s most provocative film director's.Free Music Review: somewhere

Great soundtrack, terrible movie. Of the 30 songs listed in Nowhere's closing credits, 16 rare tracks were chosen for the soundtrack recording. Outstanding tracks by 311, Catherine Wheel, Radiohead, James, The Chemical Bros. and Chuck D help make this CD a keeper. [DW]Free Music Review: Aging Well

This soundtrack was well-curated by the standards of the late 90s, and as a result retains real musical integrity more than 10 years later.
Gems by Radiohead, Chuck D, Lush, and James; it's worth seeking out this compilation for those oddities alone.

As is the case with many films, the soundtrack CD can only include so much material, and when this film had a listing of something around 30 songs in its soundtrack, you KNEW that a significant number of them would get cut. Perhaps rightly so. Sonic Youth, NIN, Filter, Cocteau Twins, the songs by those bands that were in the film can easily be found on albums already released by those respective bands. Yet, as it was so with "Strange Days," another underappreciated movie that had a soundtrack so massive that to fit it all on one CD would be impossible, this CD just doesn't do justice. It's a good sampler of alternative and modern techno (and keep in mind the movie was made 2 years before it was released), but it's just not enough!
