If you are a fan of the late 80's television show Beauty and the Beast, starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman, then this CD is for you. It has music and poetry from the show, with the poerty being read by "Vincent" with his wonderful voice. Some of the poetry is from William Shakespeare, William Wordsworth, George Gordon, Lord Byron, Robert Frost to name a few. It has Catherine & Vincent's love song with lyrics, which I just heard for the first time when I got this CD and it brought tears to my eyes. I absolutely love this CD and think you will too! I'm with Isabelle...I almost started jumping up and down when I saw that the CD was available!! I have the cassette; I can't believe it still plays after all these years. I'm a die-hard Vincent and Katherine fan; I absolutely loved the series. And this "soundtrack" is nothing short of fantastic. "Vincent's" incredible voice reciting Shakespeare's Sonnet XXIX just makes me melt. And the music....it takes me right back to the feeling I got watching Vincent and Katherine together.
And, yes, PLEASE, if someone would just put the much-too-short seasons of B&B on DVD, I'd be the first in line to buy them.
I can't wait for my new CD to get here! Hurry, USPS!

I was a fan of the show when it was on, I have purchased the CD's that have finally been produced, and I had the cassette tape to this album for years - and wanted to update my records for use with an MP3 player.

Ron Pearlman and Linda Hamilton were so right for this show - and Ron Pearlman's talent at bringing Vincent come to life was excellent. I understood that when he did the recording on this he was fully done up as Vincent to re-create the mood - he hit it on the nail. His voice, the music, the poetry, the singing -- are wonderful. I am glad to have it back!

I highly recommend this to all Beauty and the Beast fans.

I actually shrieked out loud when I discovered this had finally been re-released on CD. Fans of the show have been waiting such a long long time. Like many others, I had the audiotape version I bought way back when, and kept it when I had gotten rid of most of my other tapes. The quality of CD is ripe for this kind of classical music and voice over. Some selections bring me to tears for all their life and nostalgia. How many of us Beasties don't tear up when they hear that haunting theme played?
Please, anyone listening--release the series on dvds! Coupled with this musical comforter for the soul, that would simply be perfection.

I have this on cassette tape only. I actually got rid of almost all my cassettes, and went to CD, but could not and would not ever get rid of the Beauty and The Beast cassette. It's my favorite of all music items. Now I am going to ask my husband to get me the CD sound track for Christmas or I will purchase it for myself. If you are a fan of Beauty and The Beast this is a must item to have. Even if you are not a fan, the poetry and music is so beautiful and very relaxing. Now they need to bring the whole TV series on DVD and make all us Beauty and The Beast Fans happy. Who ever decided to re-release this item, all I can say is a big THANK YOU!
