Free Music Review: amazing solo outing from skinny puppy frontman kevin ogilvie

this is the real deal. when i first heard this, i automatically thought to myself "this is the shot in the arm industrial music needs". mark walk is a production GENIUS. the varied layers of voice, guitar, synths, and drum machines just swarm and swim around in your head. everything feels so energetic and alive, i feel like i want to go on a marathon run listening to it. is this a poppy album? hell yes! is it artsy pop? yes! this album satisfies me on a number of levels. i think it is a far superior album to 'weLt', which i do like, but comes off rather dated honestly. i think these guys are so ahead of their time, it doesn't surprise me that there's been so much nasty talk about them. it is the true genius who outlives his audience, and ogre and walk have done it on this release.Free Music Review: Nivek Ogre = Crazy Mofo...again

This, the second chapter in Ohgr's "let's see what kind of weird effects I can get out of this keyboard" saga. SunnyPsyOp is definitely a step up and a step forward in a different direction than it's older sibling; Welt. This album is much darker than Welt, and seems to take a few steps into Skinny Puppy industrial territory. SunnyPsyOp also seems to be much more cohesive than Welt as most of the songs are connected between intro's and outro's, and all seem to fit nicely together. The CD also comes with a great video (for your computer) for the song MaJiK. My only complaint about the album is it seems a tad bit short and perhaps could have had a few more tracks on there. Aside from that, yet another great musical achievement from Mister Ogre.Free Music Review: OGHR... this is a must have!!!

from the very second i opened the packaging on this CD, i knew something was different... Oh, how i was proven correct!
i was never really into skinny puppy, and thus never even had heard of ohgr, until a friend of mine made me watch ohgr's "majik" video... i then stole my friend's copy and ran. by the time he realized i had, i was placing an order for my own.
every song on this cd stands by it's self as a great work of pushing all sorts of barriers with synth. put together, it's what i would consider a master work.
you must purchase this collection of truly great tracks. if you do not, you'll regret it forever...
Free Music Review: Ohgr Expedites the Industry into the Advanced Future

This is probably one of the best industrial reclamations made within the past decade. Ohgr excels as pure genious, I cannot possibly give his work any more credit; it is the best and deserves the best. Nivek has given the music industry what artists today cannot provide. Experience is essential and Nivek Ohgr is one of the few who have been exercising and purveying this knowledge of electronical music since the mid 1980s.
'Sunnypsyop' is 'Welt' (2001) to the extreme with more synth. I reccomend both albums but for me this is the one that has re-revolutionized retro-industrial music into the technologically advanced future.
Free Music Review: Better than Welt

Welt was pretty good, but this one blows that record out of the water. It is so much more lush and varied in style. Songs like Jako and Majik are highlights. One or two may be less memorable but as a whole this proves that Ogre can hold his own ground. I dont mind one bit that he is singing, even if I did prefer his sick as hell distorted vocals that were present on earlier puppy releases. He sounds great on here and I totally recommend this to Ogre and Cevik Key fans alike. Also get Cevin Key's "The Dragon Experience." That record is also essential like SunnyPsyOp is and all Skinny Puppy albums are!
