Free Music Notes for SunnypsyopFree Music Review: If I see one more person comparing this to Skinny Puppy... Hit: 5 Stars
Now, to everyone going on a bitchfest about how this isn't "Skinny Puppy", GUESS WHAT? It's not! Go ahead, Read the cover. It says "oGhR!" I ABSOLUTELY ADMIRE Kevin Ogilvie for this project. That's right, folks, a project, NOT SKINNY PUPPY! That's like referring Cevin Key's side projects as Skinny Puppy. Sunnypsyop + WELT are both a breath of fresh air for the fans. This is not a permanent sound, yet a PROJECT. A VVEEERRRYY INTERESTING PROJECT. :) Take a listen... You won't be sorry. It's more than unique, DIFFERENT, upbeat and witty.

Lyrically this is probably Ogre's most accessible album, the lyrics aren't as cut up and obscure as he's known for.The music pounds between an almost "bad mood guy" meets "electric cafe" explosion. No doubt this is unique stuff.Much more cohesive than welt as a previous reviewer stated and ultimately a much more satisfying listen as a whole.Definitely not for everyone but for fans of the first album and of mark walks work in ruby etc. and anyone seeking something different in the electronic genre it's a definite buy.
Free Music Review: a welcome progression Hit: 5 Stars
This is definitely the best of Ogre's post Skinny Puppy work so far. There's a cohesiveness on this album as whole that was lacking from W.E.L.T. As always, Ogre doesn't hesitate to comment on current social and cultural issues (check out "ChemTale" and "MaJiK"). Lyrically, Ogre uses his cut-up and wordplays very effectively. Die-hard Skinny Puppy fans should be able to swallow Mark Walk's music much better this time around. I would consider this for anyone who enjoys dark electronic tunes.
Free Music Review: Wa Terga Te is excellent Hit: 5 Stars
Everything about this album is fantastic. So fantastic that fantastic just doesn't begin to describe it; hence, I must make up a new word to describe ohGr's SunnyPsyOp. OK here goes; SunnyPsyOp is fantiobillius.
The album artwork is superb. I love the digipak setup. All the songs - except DoG - are great, but especially Wa Terga Te and SunBurn. The video for MaJik included on this enhanced CD is a masterpiece of both political thought and claymation.
I must buy Welt.
Free Music Review: Sunnypsyop Hit: 5 Stars
The first listen of this album will confuse and possibly disappoint you (having anticipated this album for months I couldn't help but overhype it in my head) but try it again. After a week or so of heavy listening I "got it" and I am sure glad I did. The payoff of frittering beats and simple yet brilliant melodies is huge. Of course, the lyrics of the album are clever and intelligent (we expect nothing less from Ogre). The more I listen the more I find myself wanting to listen.
