But there's more. Four years after dropping his uneven "Return to the 36 Chambers" (alternate title: "Why We Needed Nine Men to Back Dirty; Or, He Can't Carry a Record by His Lonesome"), & after what would have sent many a rapper straight to popcore land shortly thereafter (think: Dirty's duet with Mariah), the Dog came back as foul-mouthed, politically-aware, & dangerous as ever. To wit: He cherrypicked producers for the 13 tracks so each could have the beats of best fit, depending on what science he would lay down lyrically... & what did we get? An album that in any other hands would be a scattershot, 75%+ miss effort. But with Dirty helming the mic, we have artful megalomania that is his trademark ("Recognize", with an assist from Chris Rock, to repay Dirty for his Words of Wisdom on Bring the Pain); love for his community, which is not just the "expected" hip-hop audience of black people but the entire world (shouts-out to Snoop, Outkast, U.S. Military, Inuit, even Suge Knight... About which: Dirty is not so stupid as we think & so he knows, if Suge doesn't get Suge's perceived due, Suge could have him killed... Which is also funny: 'cause Dirty knows Suge can't touch, as later Dirty claims he will never die, that no[-one], he means also that nobody, white, black, or purple, will usurp Dirty's own place on the throne)); libidinism ("I Want Pussy"); & unity of purpose (behind the Dirt Dog's claim to leadership) on "In Together Now". Among others.

Plus, this was also the 'Tunes break out work. So, there is a direct line from Nigga Please to In Search of... & never mind those remixes for Marilyn Manson & N*SYNCH.

So, come to think of it, this record is even better & more important than I'd at first thought.
