Free Music Review: A disappointment

As a fan of Oliver Mtukudzi, I assumed this collection would have a wealth of new material. With the exceptions of tracks 2,7,9 and 10,I ALREADY have these songs,on "Tuku Music," "Paivepo", "Vhunze Moto" and "African Odyssey." "The Oliver Mtukudzi Collection" is mostly a compilation of songs from CDs now sadly discontinued.
"The Oliver Mtukudzi Collection" is,in a sense,hearkening back to Putumayo's early days,when they had "Kotoja:The Super Sawale Collection," "The Toure Kunda Collection," "The Dalom Kids and Splash Collection" and "The Johnny Clegg and Juluka Collection" (now, sadly,all are out of print)
I do enjoy the new songs. "Ngoromera" is a powerful plea for peace. "Shanda" is a joyous praise of the musician's art. "Neria" is a song defending the rights of widows,and it's a live version. "Hear me Lord" is also a live track;it's basically a spiritual. Mtukudzi's earthy, world-weary voice drives the song.
This album is perfect for newcomers to Oliver Mtukudzi's Zimbabwe blues,and aficionados of African music.
