What can i say about Olivia Newton-John,that has not already been said,she is truly one of the great female artists of our time. Finally HIP-O and Universal have released the most comprehensive and up to date Best of package. This album is a must have for any collection i love the fact that there are some rare tracks on here like "Fool Country" which was only a B-side from "Xanadu" and omitted from the soundtrack and the first time this track has seen a cd release. Now if only HIP-O and Universal would start re-releasing Olivia's studio albums which are all out of print in the US that would be great or maybe even a box set. I have also noticed that there are 2 DVD's slated for release in August. Maybe Olivia will start getting some much needed recognition she deserves it. The packaging and artwork on this Cd is superb as well as the liner notes and sound.I went to Best Buy here in Tulsa,Oklahoma to purchase it and they did not have it so i also went to BORDERS and paid full price for this gem but it is worth it,i also love the fact that it is all in chronological order.So go out and pick this one up and if you get the chance to see Olivia Live do it she is touring this summer.

Free Music Review: FINALLY!!! From "A Forever Olivia Fan"

I have pretty much everything Olivia's released and this collection surpasses all of my anticipation and expectations. It is absolutely fabulous; it compiles everything from her beginnings of the sweet, ethereal, country songs to her pop-icon goddess music.
If you've ever had the fortune to attend one of Olivia's 1970's concerts (I did as a child), listening to this compilation is like being there all over again --- ONLY IT'S BETTER!! It's better because you have her performances of the hits that came after as well. True there are a few goodies that were overlooked, but a lot of what's been included here was never included in one of her compilations before.
It's unfortunate that some of the songs from her recent CD's, released in Australia, haven't been included here (OR RELEASED HERE). Being the faithful fan that I am, I've gone online and obtained copies of these wonderful imports; not to mention that I've also seen her in concert in twice in the last four years.
All in all, if you've ever been an Olivia fan buy this CD compilation!!! You won't be disappointed, she's a Fantastic performer and an all-around, truly good person.
Free Music Review: One of the Best Female Vocalists Ever!!!

I heard Olivia Newton-John's song 'Xanadu' on the radio and I thought: 'That is such a great song'. I think 'Xanadu' is one of her best songs. This music is like ABBA but even better. It has pop music but as well as country music in it. Olivia is such a great vocalist too and the songs are unique. 'If Not for You' is a great opener. At first, it reminds me of Bonnie Tyler or Dolly Parton. There's many great songs: 'Let Me Be There', 'I Honestly Love You', 'Have You Ever Been Mellow?', 'Please Mr. Please', 'Every Face Tells a Story', 'Totally Hot'...and there's still one CD more. It is great to be a chronological collection. The CD is a great one too... 'Xanadu', 'Magic', 'Physical', 'Soul Kiss', Can't We Talk It Over In Bed', 'The Rumour', 'Deeper Than a River" just to name my favourites. I think quite disturbing that 'Grease Mega-Mix'...I think the songs are alright but not the best Olivia has made. This album has much to give for you.

Free Music Review: PERFECT for the casual Olivia fan!

I have liked Olivia Newton-John since I was a kid. She is so amazingly beautiful, is tough as nails (read: breast cancer survivior), and has a lovely voice -- so what's not to love?
While I am not a huge fan of the early "country" Olivia, this collection gives an excellent overview of the terrific singer's career. All her biggest country and pop hits are here, of course, and there are a few "rare" tracks (like "Fool Country") thrown in for longtime fans.
My personal favorites are "Tied Up" (I will never understand why this wasn't a huge hit ... it's so sexy!), "Magic," "Hopelessly Devoted To You" and "A Little More Love," but all the songs here are good. And I dig the dark theme of "Banks of the Ohio" ... too cool! And I am enjoying getting reacquainted with "forgotten" hits like "Livin' In Desperate Times" and "Totally Hot."
This CD set replaces any previous Olivia hits CDs you may own. This is the ultimate Olivia ... with gorgeous remastered sound!!! Buy it, buy it, buy it!

This cd collection by Olivia Newton-John is definately worth its weight in GOLD!! Is by far her best yet! I personally prefer disc 1. As I am a little partial to her older songs of the 70's. "LET ME BE THERE" "IF YOU LOVE ME (Let me know)" "HAVE YOU EVER BEEN MELLOW" "PLEASE Mr. PLEASE" (Don't play B-17,) "DON'T STOP BELIEVIN" and "EVERY FACE TELLS A STORY." If you're looking for sadness, hope, love, happiness and heartache.. Then "GOLD" is the cd for you! This cd collection is every bit as MAGICal,and PHYSICAL. It will SUDDENLY give you a HEART ATTACK, cause you to be TIED UP, and have you LIVIN' IN DESPERATE TIMES. It will take you back to the 1950's with I HONESTLY LOVE YOU, HOPELESSLY DEVOTED TO YOU, SUMMER NIGHTS, YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT, and cause you to have a GREASE MEGAMIX meltdown. All that's left to say is I HONESTLY LOVE this cd! Olivia Newton-John is a blue-ribbon songstress. If you are a true O.N.J. fan or a newcomer to her music, you will not be disappointed!
