Free Music Notes for RumourFree Music Review: No 'Rumour,' this is one of Olivia's better efforts. Hit: 4 Stars
"The Rumour" is an overlooked album that came at the end of the singer's lucrative heydays. It has aged surprisingly well and contains Olivia's best work as a songwriter with "Let's Talk About Tomorrow" and "It's Not Heaven." But the real treat here is the stunning waltz-like ballad "Walk Through Fire." Ironically, the title track penned by Elton John (and closest to her typical '80's pop sound), is one of the weakest in a otherwise unique and diverse set of musical styles.
Free Music Review: Olivia once again provides a great pop album! Hit: 4 Stars
Olivia once again provides a great pop album, including an upbeat title song with help from Elton John. "Love and Let Live" should be the anthem for the Aids crisis, preaching safety without moral judgment. For long-term Olivia fans, this compilation continues the post-Grease style that has kept us hooked with other favorites Physical and Soul Kiss. A must have for your Olivia collection!
Free Music Review: No Rumour Hit: 4 Stars
This great album didn't get the attention it deserved, which has nothing to do with its great music and everything to do with any recording artist having a limited shelf life and then people stop buying. They'll go to concerts but won't touch the records. Great songs, great orchestrations, great singing and a lot to think about in this sharp collection. Well worth getting.
Free Music Review: A much overlooked record. Hit: 4 Stars
Of all of Olivia's newtron-bombs, this is the one that detonates into the memory. It's the one where she sings about controversial subjects and with passion. When has she ever done this? Hell, she even enlisted David & David's producer for maximum effect. Of all ONJ's records, this is the only one I can take seriously as art.
Free Music Review: It's big and strong! Hit: 4 Stars
Again Olivia suprised the world by making an album with songs about serious subjects, such as aids, divorce aso... Many of the songs were co-written by Olivia and that sure makes a plus, cause she sings with great passions,my favourite has to be Love and Let Live,a very powerfull song where Olivia's vocals reach full potentiel!
