I really enjoy this album and I listen to it all the time, I think that it does not deserve some of the negative reviews that I have seen. Omar is generally more experimental in his solo work, it's meant to be more "raw" in a sense and unfocused as opposed to his meticulously crafted work for The Mars Volta albums so do not buy this if you are expecting something that sounds ANYTHING like TMV because you will be disappointed/confused/hurt. But for everyone else, this is a great jam and a very good song, Note: if you do not like Damo's singing, a shorter version sans Damo appears in Se Dice Bisonte No Buffalo but personally I prefer this version :)
