Free Music Review: "The McCallum Sound" - music to my ears
Hit: 5 Stars

When I was younger, I received "Music: A Bit More of Me" as a gift. It was the only McCallum album I ever found.

I love the unique orchestration of the music, and I played the album for nearly 20 years, despite the few pops and scratches. The album didn't wear out, my stereo did.

Needless to say, I was thrilled to see Mr. McCallum's first and second albums re-released on CD. I had not heard "The House on Breckenridge Lane" or the music from the first album before. With "Breckenridge Lane" (and the short duet he did with Nancy Sinatra during the television series), Mr. McCallum proved he could sing. He also proved he can compose music. "Isn't It Wonderful" is one of my favorites.

I agree that Mr. McCallum is one of the few actors who produced good albums, and I would love to see "It's Happening Now" and "McCallum" released as a two-CD set.

Free Music Review: David McCallum Rocks!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a killer CD of "lounge" music with some much needed soul! Unlike most string-heavy, soft lounge covers of 60's tunes that populate this genre, McCallum give us refreshingly edgy interpretations, and spotlights unusual instruments like the Oboe and French horn. Check out the kickin' sax solo on Michelle! Extra tracks make this well worth the extra coin.

Free Music Review: Excellant
Hit: 5 Stars

I purchased this about 6 months ago, and was well worth the wait I had for it to arrive.....Davids singing is very good the first 4 tracks, and the instrumentals are WODERFUL I recommend this to anyone who is a dAVID FAN, OR LIKES 60S MUSIC DONE IN A SLIGHTLY DIFF WAY

Free Music Review: I can get no satisfaction
Hit: 5 Stars

I love This album. I hope Mr. McCallum will make many others cds like this one. I love the sax solo on Michelle and many of my friends too. Please release others volumes soon.

Free Music Review: nice compilation of first 2 lps McCallum did for Capitol
Hit: 4 Stars

If you can get past the first 4 cuts on the CD, (a bit silly but cuts 1, 2 and 4 were never released on any LPS only as 45 rpm singles and the first 4 cuts are the only ones McCallum sings on) the rest of the CD is instrumental and definately easy listening music. The booklet that comes with the CD was written by Paul Gilbert from RECORD COLLECTOR in April 1996 giving some nice background information on the LPS as well as comments from Mr. McCallum. Though, a bit pricey for a one CD, it is one of the better celebrity CDs on the market and shows another side of David McCallum - his musical background. I hope one day that a second compilation CD will be put out with McCallum's instrumental music from his 3rd and 4th LPs he did for CAPITOL Records.
