Free Music Notes for My Arms, Your HearseFree Music Review: thank you Hit: 5 Stars
Few months ago i was just reading through reviews and i came across Opeth which I had never heard before. I read a ton of the reviews you people have put on here and it prompted me to download a couple songs. The most standout track was Serenity Painted Death (i know its not on this particular album) Anyways, after hearing several songs I was hooked and I bought this album first because it was the only one I could find at the local record store. Now I own 4 albums and want to complete the set soon. So, if you think your review is going for nothing dont think that way, because these reviews do a lot of good sometimes.
Free Music Review: A requiem mass for the dead headbanger! Hit: 5 Stars
I love this recording! Dark, beautiful and powerful with delicate weavings of lyrics set to a landscape of evil! the ONLY thing i will criticize about this album is the cover. If you look in the trees in the top right, you can see a pole with the telephone lines off in the distance. Is that evil guy in my back yard or something trying to be all evil and junk? I was laughing because it's so cool yet still evil. Almost a salute to Spinal Tap in all their glorious sarcasm and mockery!
Free Music Review: There's nothing more to add to what's been said Hit: 5 Stars
Mikael Åkerfeldt never ceases to amaze me. My Arms, Your Hearse is a true gem, recognizing 70's progressive rock and death metal in its formula. Along with Morningrise and Still Life, this must be the most emotional album Opeth ever created. With little repetition, great vocals, a unique story line, memorable guitar harmonies, aggressiveness and intimacy, everything you've come to expect from Opeth is here. One of the finest bands in today's world of metal.
Free Music Review: Quite possibly the best album of all time!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Opeth is a truly amazing band. Right now they might be my favorite. Any fan of doom/goth/black/melodic death metal, must buy this album. The Amen Corner and Demon of the Fall, are tracks you can listen to over and over again.
Opeth perfectly blends growling death metal vocals, high pitched black metal vocals and amzing quality singing into their beautiful sound.
This may be the best album ever! Check it out.
Free Music Review: Indescribable Hit: 5 Stars
This has to be my favorite album by Opeth, but then again I like them all. Opeth is different from most bands. They don't use choruses which is a unique approach. They write some of the most beautiful songs and most are around 8 to 10 minutes. They can go from speedy riffs to acoustic interludes and back again. Their use of growling and clean vocals is awesome. This is a band to check out. Talent bursting at the seams.
