Free Music Notes for Watershed (w/DVD)Free Music Review: Watershed in a nutshell.. Hit: 5 Stars
I will keep this short.
Opeth in my opinion is one of the best bands on the planet.
Watershed is a mix of progressive psychedelic metal mixed with dark sinister ambiance mixed with Grunting vocals mixed smooth vocals and this new album reaches all ends of the Opeth spectrum.
Watershed is the bands 9th album, with two new members on this album they still pull off brilliance.
I have listened to the album 3 times already and I love it.
Get the special edition comes with a lot more for a few bucks more!
They are amazing musically in all ways.
BUY THIS ALBUM!! ITS AMAZING
Free Music Review: They did it again, even better Hit: 5 Stars
Opeth, interestingly, have balanced perfectly both death metal and prog aesthetics. The production is excellent, the presentation and the 5.1 mix especially impressive, with some real attention to detail. Powerful, melodic, defiant, all this makes for a multifaceted record, which will no doubt take some time to exceed. How does it compare to the band's previous releases? It's better than any other record the band has put out, Watershed is certainly a solid entry into Opeth's catalogue, and it will provide some hard listening for the next few years, an instant classic.
Free Music Review: I enjoy this Hit: 5 Stars
This album from Opeth is quite amazing in my opinion. They have successfully merged many different genres of music into one beautifully eclectic album. The balance between instruments is done to perfection. I was really shocked how different the songs sound when played in DTS on the bonus disc. If you don't plan on utilizing the 5.1 version of this album, I would suggest getting the regular version opposed to the special edition. The three bonus tracks were nice, but no surprise to me that they were not part of the main release.
Free Music Review: Opeth Succeed Again Hit: 5 Stars
Opeth are a progressive metal band who incorporate just about any genre they can grasp, this includes: Jazz, Hard Rock, 70s Rock, Classical, A dash of Blues etc. This time around Opeth may not be as heavy, but it's not as bad as a fan would think.
The songs are great the intro features female vocals, and acoustic supremacies. The album is overall great, the quality is stunning, and the bonus content included is well worth your investment.
Free Music Review: Opeth are Back! Hit: 5 Stars
Some may say Opeth never left but for the most part Ghost Reveries just didn't do it for me with the exception of a few tracks including the title track. It lacked emotion from Akerfeldt. Watershed bounces Opeth back into there game of clearing the rest of the struggeling metal genre with double the brutality and beauty. The songwriting is beyond the curve and yet again proves this band is untouchable.
